I'm 38, I've got three son's, and a wife I've been with for over 20 years.
What's the problem mother fucker? Just money?
Brody Davis
Sorry, wrong flag. Honk honk.
Lucas Baker
Fuck off boomer faggot.
Anthony Williams
Have you tried fishing, user? It's often viewed as a blue collar hobby but it's actually fascinating to learn about fish species, bodies of water, and presentation techniques. It's affordable and it will give you something to look forward to on the weekends. Plus, often time just getting to the body of water is an adventure in and of itself. Which state do you live it?
Money, yes. And/or spiritual/divine/satisfactory purpose. Fuck off faggot. I'm on the cusp.
Brandon Diaz
Doesn't know what a boomer even is
Benjamin Wilson
I'm like you (age and education) but with one child and I struggle with a lack of purpose in life too. We were supposed to be exploring the stars by now but that turned out to be smoke and mirrors. What the hell is the purpose of this life? Jesus said take no oaths in Matthew; does that mean we made a mistake by marrying? Maybe what you need is a spirit journey - three days of isolation, prayer, and fasting up on a mountain.
Jack Cook
Not checked. Another leaf raked to the curb.
Noah Davis
How much do you have in retirement savings? A single 40 year old should have about 300k. If you are married you should have over 500k in 401k. Especially in this bull market
Evan Jones
Try getting involved with political organizations if you're looking for something to do in your spare time. Just attend rallies or help in some organization efforts and just enjoy the atmosphere.
Doing this will even be self-improvement.
Owen Harris
stop drinking, til then you don't have a leg to stand on vs. your wife. that will tear your whole life up, i've seen it all over the world and i'm a fucking enlisted navy man tell me i haven't seen what alcohol does to families lol.
Lincoln Clark
Degeneracy, find god.
Nolan Clark
>Maybe what you need is a spirit journey - three days of isolation, prayer, and fasting up on a mountain. Maybe this. It's been a while. Hahhaahaa fuck, really? Fuck.
Yeah man. That’s accounting for inflation. A married couple should have at least 2-3 million in retirement by 65 if they want to stop working and continue to support family members
Jaxson Sanchez
Fuck that, I think it could be the dad life, sounds pretty typical.
Don't they call this a midlife crisis?
Carter Butler
Kybalion meditation start a garden become more active in your kids lives. Don't let the school systems educate them. Spend the time you would be drinking doing things with them. ... faggot
Ryder Reyes
Reach out to your friends you’ve fallen out of touch with and rekindle your relationships with them. I was in a pretty bad rut a few years ago and getting back in touch with my friends and rebuilding my social life really helped me. Also try to limit your time on Jow Forums, of course this site is great in its own ways but too much browsing can be psychologically damaging.
Brayden Parker
>stop drinking, til then you don't have a leg to stand on based navybrat
Asher Gonzalez
So you and your wife need to save 30g each, every year. For like 45 years.
William Kelly
Then you will be happy?
Kayden Garcia
Seconded based brazil bro.
Elijah Lopez
Go to church man, take your kids to church. As far as money, that shit comes and goes. Just spend time with your kids. Concentrate on them, it helps me. I play with my oldest son all the time video games, football, swimming, all kinds of shit. I'm not perfect, I'll have a few drinks or smoke and then go play some. It's fun.
Jackson Reed
Simply put my friend workout. Work your mind (read, learn new things), workout your body (I lift and row). The most important thing imo is to exercise willpower. To do this you have to make changes. Stop drinking pretty much altogether, stop consuming media in excess. I nofap/noporn and will literally never go back. Become a man that you would respect in every aspect. You won't be perfect, that's okay no one is. Do all of your own thinking. Don't rely on others to do your thinking for you. Constantly monitor all things you do without conscious thought, this makes you powerful. Once you really learn introspection it shines light on dark places of your mind and soul. At 40 you might think you have stopped growing. You haven't. There is so much more OP. Godspeed.
Jack Hill
I'm 36, divorced, and desperately trying to sell the trashed house I bought with my ex wife. Parents are increasingly sicker and I have a nice stable job as well, but I can't do much with that fucking house.
Jason Scott
You ever hear of compound interest dumbass? If you invested 50,000 in the s&p500 back in 2009, and never added another cent you would have over 200,000 today
Oliver Campbell
rough day, huh? life seems meaningless, huh? well you're correct. its purpose must be chosen by you. understand that sadness and pain is a natural part of life, but that isn't what life revolves around. learn to enjoy the ride, and seek out beauty in your surroundings. free your mind.
Make a goal that is difficult but not so difficult it destroys you short middle and long term, increase the difficulty as you see fit
Nathaniel Ross
It's good to see people older then 25 here, you're still young so don't forget that, it's all about how you carry yourself, anyway, adopt minimalism, stop drinking, find what you truly love, work on that when you have free time and learn discipline/patience.
Isaiah Hall
by sticking your head back in the sand and ignore the fact that [{(someone)}] is coming to rape that boi pussy of yours you keep in the air

mentally and spiritually prepare for the inevitable demise that everyone has, does, and will face.
Ok so how much money does a couple need to "invest" in the stock market to be happy? If you could give me a ballpark
Cameron Myers
These fucking gets are the answer to your prayers. Don't squander this chance.
Logan Nguyen
Stop drinking, and stop worrying. If you need to stop one, stop worrying. It’s pure mental poison. The important thing to realize is that events out outside of your control. Live the best you can, and everything will work out.
Jacob Adams
I’m pretty close to your situation, no kids yet, but everything else spot on - i would suggest finding hobbies or working on your house. This weekend I installed security cameras on my neighbors house, their cameras will aid my cameras - and their neighbors are buying some, etc. I find great satisfaction in doing shit to better my neighbors lives ( I can do a shit ton of electrical/tech shit, I just enjoy doing it outside of work)
Maybe take some time to go wine and dine your old lady? That always helps us to get out of the grind
Kevin Bell
you have low t. not kidding or trying to insult.
Caleb Nguyen
You should do what I do when i feel down. Start a network of fake twitter accounts and subtly spread red pills to literal 10s of peoples. Maybe it'll translate to another red vote in 2020.
Joseph Flores
Max out a 401k. Preferably 2 if you can. This is important because you need interest to beat inflation. The later you start the worse off you will be. The rule of thumb is 15% of your salary, tax deferred goes to retirement. Watch Dave Ramsey videos for further info. Go to Bogleheads.org for basic investment advice and fund selection
Julian Thomas
>2009 That's some grade a cherry picking therw user. But you're right, if you're not in the market you're fucked long term.

Wow nu-pol
People answer normie reddit tier questions with normal reddit tier answers and this fag congratulates them for it.
- I come here for the horror and unbridled sense of freedom when saying nigger
Ok I’m gonna make it very clear for the kids in this chat to understand. When someone comes here asking for advice they aren’t asking to be roasted by their friends. Grow up. Learn to lift your boys up instead of shooting them down. I don’t know what kind of logic you guys are running on really. but it’s pretty pathetic desu I really feel for you guys. It’s a shame you have such low self esteems that you can only feel better about yourselves by shitting on your friends. Smh
Zachary Davis
I’m just like you, plus I rarely see my son and I’m 5 years older than you. Oh and I forgot, I got cancer a few months ago (surgically removed).
Not sure it will make you feel better, but just know there’s always someone who has it worse than you.
Liam Lewis
You’re not my boy you shit for brains consumer zombie. I don’t owe you anything but scorn for propping up an illegitimate government and taking the bribe that destroyed not merely an entire race, but the only race that gives the entire species hope. Fuck yourself. Agony is born of desire. You hurt because your values are shit. You want your cock sucked? Turn to that whore you’re with.
Robert Cox
Hang in there bro, develop devotion to The Virgin Mary and Her Divine Child, go here: >www.salvemariaregina.info
You should be grateful for what you have. There are so many people out there working much harder who are much less blessed than you are. I don't begrudge you what you have, but you really need to be grateful. Read the Book of Job sometime.

>spiritual/divine/satisfactory purpose. your family is your purpose you may not 'feel it' right now I think hang on a few years and it'll kick in
Evan Robinson
Congrats. You gave something meaningful to the conversation.
Ryan Campbell
>your family is your purpose I know. But how to maintain and secure in the current united state of things? >I think hang on a few years and it'll kick in I'm almost fucking 40. I'll be kicking the bucket "in a few years"
Levi Rivera
money is the shackles of satan. don't let it get embedded into your soul. think of yourself as luke in the episode 4 movie poster, leia your wife, and the droids your kids. you are their leader and you're supposed to lead them into the light/righteousness/god
if you hide inside your shell, the family unit will weaken and self-destruct, leading evil to take control of it (your wife leaving you for a bbc, your kids committing suicide/going to jail, etc...).
you have to be a strong leader and the guide of the family
>I'm almost fucking 40. I'll be kicking the bucket "in a few years" Seriously? You're only reaching the half of your lifespan.
Matthew Long
Very insightful, you gaped-mouth sōyboy >your wife leaving you for a bbc Hahaha, no. She is more disgusted by blacks than I. Fuck back off to your personal fantasy world.
Daniel Rogers
You have my dream life, you have to start tackling to problems now. The procrastination compounds the stress which kicks of a reaction. Small steps, have you wife help, be a team and show your children how adults work together and how a family operates. The future will happen, ensuring you have plans in place for the worst is the key. You can stop anything. Stay strong.
Alexander Wilson
It's unfortunate that you haven't come to God user. I would have thought that your wife (whom I am assuming is Eastern European) would have brought you to him. Your suffering is a deficiency of his presence, or more precisely, your inability to feel his presence. Also, >government job Gubmint is good for stability (usually, now that the minorities are really getting in on that game hard, I'm kinda worried for you), but it's shit for you mentally and financially (because you probably already know you're a parasite on the taxpayer and the government throws you crumbs because you're just another drone that they could replace with a nigger - white or black).
Bentley Adams
You can't man, make the most of what you have and for fuck sake don't drink so much. Idk exercise or some shit
>plays vidya and drowns himself on the bottom of a bottle Get your shit together man - or you'll see your ass divorced and your woman with another man/men. Be a man make another kid then you'll have something to do again. Show your woman some love- not just when your balls are itching. Wtf are you living for?
Alexander Garcia
Yes! Was waiting for more flags
Will be going to bed soon and this will be archived by the time I wake. Thanks for all of the responses! I will read and consider everything. Be good, and I will try too.
Jonathan Sullivan
you sure about that bud? women are really, r e a l l y good at making men think otherwise
plus someone who sits on his crusty ass and plays video games, instead of leading the family unit through a forest and back, is calling me a sauceboy? i'm currently laffin @ you
The bad news is you're kind of stuck. Until the kids are out of the house, your sole responsibility should be to your family, unless you want to be a piece of shit and just leave it all behind, but that probably won't help you.
The good news is it sounds like you're at least middle-class. You can start with taking serious steps to stop impulsive pleasure seeking (drinking, mindless internet use) and replace them with hobbies and building community. I do jiu-jitsu, and one of the most happy guys there is a dad who brings his son to the classes with him. You learn a cool skill, can compete and also build new friendships. There's lots of things you can do.
Passion isn't something that drops into your lap. Like a relationship, it needs to be built up and worked on constantly. Just start doing little things. Get your health together by getting a gym membership. The clarity a healthy body will bring you mentally will help a lot. Also, start considering yourself a non-drinker. Limit yourself to maybe 10-20 drinks a year for special occasions, and try to avoid getting drunk. Look into kratom if you absolutely insist on catching a buzz.
Pic related - I recently got into baking. I also read 'The $100 Startup' and now I'm thinking of ways to make a capitalize on my hobby, possibly a bread delivery service for people in my town by subscription. Just get your juices flowing user, the first step is the hardest.
You do realize that is impossible for likely 95% of people. You are saying every family needs to become multimillionaires. That will never ever happen in the society that we have.

Loser reprobate cries about his pathetic disgusting life on a chinese basket cartoon board.
Jeremiah Harris
You're the de facto nihilist that's crying on this board, of all places, about how much of a loser you are, and an unironic kekistani brainlet. Go pray for forgiveness and then go lift some weights you moronic soft-brained old fart. I assure you your trad wife already resents you (because you are a godless nihilistic loser) and your children already beginning to hate you, because you exude a loser angst and have lost the reigns as leader of the family. Faithless godless reprobate, sell your bike and get a squat rack and a prayer kneeler.
And a study Bible, and a pair of testicles (if the man from the government stomped them into oblivion)
Kevin Parker
Just trying to promote discussion. How you doing, user?

Best advice in this thread.
Blake Turner
Hang in there user. I too am in my early 40’s with a wife and one kid. Another one on the way soon. I fish, garden and am a bee keeper. All these things make my life a little easier. I used to ride my bicycle everyday but fell off due to a storm and damage to my home. But I’m getting back into it now. Long story short get hobbies that challenge you and also get you some me time. This will help. Between fishing, gardening and bee keeping im a busy man! And happy man
