Trump tried to stop it because special council investigations hinder the President's ability to get things done, not because he wanted to prevent crimes from being investigated. Corrupt intent is necessary to commit obstruction of justice. That is why Mueller did not recommend an indictment.

Not even a lie. She told them she had heard from "tons" of FBI agents that they didn't like Comey. Under oath she said she couldn't name anyone in specific and had just said that to CNN to give an answer.
