Climate change will result in the extinction of the human race before I can live a full life, have children...

>Climate change will result in the extinction of the human race before I can live a full life, have children, see those children grow up

How the fuck am I supposed to get over this? There is literally no point in living or doing anything long-term when we're all going to die in a few decades anyway.

tb h if we're able to push the earth far enough away from the sun, we don't have to deal with global warming.

>having children
Enjoy the fuck out of the final years is what you do. Fuck boomer parents and their grandchildren. They're the ones that fucked everything up and now they're reeeeeeeeeing about grandkids. Cull the elderly, i say.

I don't want to die young, user. I don't want this. I want children and grandchildren of my own. I feel like crying every time I think about how I will almost certainly die young in a mass extinction event.

>Climate change will result in the extinction of the human race
This is fearmongering first and foremost. The greatest threat of climate change has always been the permanent extinction of plant and animal species. While it's definitely going to have a destabilizing effect on humans, it is never going to be severe enough to kill off us planetary parasites.

Its easy to get over it when you realize you would never live a full life anyway even under optimal circumstances.

Suck it up and deal with it. Everyone dies. Enjoy the fuck of what little time we have left.

Not it won't.
Even the worst case predictions say an increase of 5 degrees in 50 years. You're am absolute retard if you think that's enough to wipe out humanity.

Every time people act like climate change will kill humans it makes me cringe. Do people forget we survived a goddamn ice age without any of the technology we have today?

>You're am absolute retard if you think that's enough to wipe out humanity.
it's enough to make life very shitty for everyone though

This. There have been tons of mass extinctions in the past, and life goes on. Humans are one of the most generalist species in the planet; we can adapt to pretty much anything.

Climate change might make things a little harder in some ways, but it certainly won't kill us all. If anything, it'll open up tons of currently unusable land in Siberia and northern Canada. Factor in seed vaults and advances in de-extinction, and we may actually be better off in the long term, even if things get a little hard for a while.

I say the best thing you can do is work to help solve the hard problems we'll be facing.

Not through "activism"; that's the most useless thing anyone can do. If anything, it's an insult to all the people who are actually doing anything, especially because you *could* be helping, but are choosing to do nothing while claiming you are making a difference. Become an expert in a useful field and actually contribute and create real solutions.

I think we have about 1000 years, actually.

Nah

No it won't retard.
Inuits, Bedouins, Amazon Indios, Tasmanian aboriginals, the Andamanese and the Mongols traditionally lived in dogshit conditions with low levels of complexity and they survived easily. If you're so worried focus on becoming self-sufficient.

Why did you bother to type all that shit out? Not one sentence of it was an original thought by you.

There haven't been any original thoughts for 2000 years

So what. I seriously doubt most people have had an original thought in their lives. By that logic, most people should never say a word.

Chill out.

It's just interesting that climate change deniers/minimizers accuse the other side of parroting a liberal agenda when they all have the same kind of boilerplate ready to go themselves that some retarded frogposter on pol spoonfed them.

Do some research instead of saving a png on Jow Forums and calling it a day.

Not him, but I saw a meme graph on Jow Forums that supposedly went back 4 billion years in tracking temperature

I'll see you in the water wars, you cunt

It doesn't take a parrot to be skeptical about the self-righteous confidence of a movement of doomsayers who (1) Have already made several doomsday predictions that didn't come true, (2) Has already been mired by scandals of "scientists" getting caught red-handed fudging numbers to get panic-bux, and (3) Does not even pretend to rely upon the scientific method or develop any firm understanding of the real relationship between specific causes and effects, just trial-and-error hindcasting.

The most broad and basic understanding of the mechanics of climate change seems pretty sound, but the absolute confidence of some that they *know* an extinction-tier calamity is coming and *know* we need to sacrifice anything and everything to stop it is completely unjustified. At least, unjustified by logic and reason - the political justification, in terms of the power that some people stand to gain by wielding the irrational fear of the calamity, is perfectly obvious.

Gonna be fun watching third worlders cull themselves

Humanity isn't gonna go extinct but you can kiss middle-class life, consumerism and capitalism goodbye.

Imagine killing yourself because of climate change lol.

You do realize boomers had literally the exact same fears with nukes right?

Do you have actual evidence that climate change is as bad as biased media and scientists say?

So if you intended to ride out climate change where would be the best place to go? North (Alaska-ish) or the equator?

Who cares? The human condition is so fucking lame and banal. We need to be culled like the dinosaurs and make way for superior lifeforms.

Dude, it's gonna be sick though why kill yourself. Haven't you seen water world!? Its mad max but on water! its gonna be gnarly bro.

There will be massive environmental and social changes, but not everybody will be equally affected.
