Offering advice.
For those who don't know me
>in my early 50's
>married almost 30 years
>6 children, most successful adults (the rest are still young!)
I've screwed up enough to know what not to do.
Anyone want advice?
A quiet day
self-bump
ok here
Why the fuck is anyone above 25 on this website?
don't you have a family to feed and kids to raise
You must be new.
There are all sorts of people on Jow Forums and the average age of various boards can vary a great deal.
My work is usually very busy but every now and then my job is to be available in case a client needs assistance over the phone. Lots of free time, so I open a thread here.
Also, why would the newer generations ask an old faggot to navigate new dating culture? Do you cheat on your wife or something?
1) Few people ask me dating advice
2) People don't change
3) Being outrageous just to be outrageous isn't very engaging
Are you happy in your life?
bump, this looks like a sweet and wholesome thread :(
Very happy, yes.
Thanks for asking
Are you a beta male?
How old is(are) your daughter(s) and can i marry them?
As I understand the (rather silly) definition, no.
1 daughter, grown, married already.
Focusing on marriage is a good idea - are you ready for it?
Tips for going to Thailand to lose my virginity? I'm 22, in college, living with my mom. I can probably save up a few grand and be able to spend a month or so in Thailand next summer. Should I lose my virginity to an escort or to a girl off tinder? I'm thinking I'll get a cheaper escort and let her deal with the awkwardness and then I'll get nicer ones and tinder girls as I get more experienced
If not. What is the purpose of your life, what is your destiny manifest, what principles do you follow?
I am. Are any of your boys sissies? I can make do with a girl(male)
>married 30 years
yes he is
Why is losing your virginity such a priority that you would spend so much money, etc?
Is your goal sex, period; good sex; or a relationship?
You're being silly.
Ok old man, you will understand one day when your son comes home in a dress
I'm just extremely sexually frustrated. I don't view women as human and I can't bring myself to get a real relationship. I just want to experience sex and then have sex. My current coping method is masturbating 3x a day most days and I just want to see what the real thing is like. I have tried for years to get this under control and ignore it but i've let it control me and I want it to stop. None of my long term goals will be impacted by this aside from me being down some money. Plus I've always wanted to travel. Not necessarily to Thailand but it's outside the USA so good enough
because it's presented as an out of this world experience that you should try to get as soon as you can and that you are mocked for having never done
No, I just am sexually frustrated. I expect it to be awkward, gross, and empty. I just want to have it
I'm not attempting to insult anyone here. Most men are beta and experience pleasure in tying themselves to a social unit and serving the interests of that organization - the family unit, or more commonly the woman.
The reason this is relevant to establish is because your advice is completely inadequate for any man who is NOT of this personality.
Is 30 too late to get a degree and start a career ?
All I've done during my 20s is fail. I used to be a good student in high school, but now I have no degrees and had to move back home. I keep seeing other people my age starting careers, getting into relationships and travelling while I'm becoming everyday more of a recluse. I don't play video games all day long, neither do I spend my time insulting people online. Just feel like I'm a NPC in my own life. I see the others on their way to success and happiness while I stay the same.
How to get a wife? I am swiping my dick sore but nobody is but I can't find a good girl.
You seem to be in a bad spot; seeing other people as less than human, the self-abuse - I doubt random sex for money will do more than make it worse.
If you feel you must, try a dating app first and if you don't/won't, travel and be extremely careful when you do.
Improving your self-discipline is always good and could help a lot. Get a solid routine and try to stop fapping!
Teleology, virtue, and duty.
A solid foundation for life
Wow, what cliche advice. What did I expect from a boomer normie? Anyhow, I expected this. I tried dating apps and after two weeks of no results I deleted it all. After my vacation is over I am going to start working out and start riding my bike to class when college starts back up. I tried nofap but when I get to two weeks I just explode or get depressed. Yeah, it's a "bad spot" but it is what it is
My *current* vacation. Not my future potential sex vacation
>Most men are beta
I do love the goopy pseudo-science that seeps out of the cracks of the internet.
The alpha male concept was a brief theory to describe the bahavior of wolves in zoos that was discarded within months as it was disproven, yet it lingers on in science fiction and bad TV like vril or astrology.
Later seized upon by hucksters to sell e-books to the lonely hearts crowd it continues, now, as the ridiculous idea that you can sort amazingly different people into categories based upon how many people a virgin thinks a man should sleep with.
Hilarious, really.
I recall one of these peddlars of woo telling me a happily married man with healthy, happy children, his own company, a strong personality, and even fame would only be a gamma, maybe a beta, if he had only ever had sex with his wife while a lonely, poor, unkniown man living in his mother's basement would be a top alpha if he had sex with a different woman every night.
The dreams of 12 year olds looking at porn turned into a silly theory.
I am not alpha, beta, gamme, nor a zed. I am a grown man who supports himself and his family who has a large social circle and has made plenty of mistakes.
If you want to play pretend evopsych, Jow Forums is a few boards over
What is your biggest regret in your life?
of course not!
I was a soldier and didn't start college until I was 25; finished when I ws 33 and had plenty of kids.
The average person switches careers 3 times as an adult.
There is no time limit to learn, grow, change, or succeed
swiping?
Go out and meet people. Get to know them, lots of different people.
If you haven't spent a lot of time with women you might not even know what *you* really like in a woman!
lasses are good; book clubs; hiking; etc.
get out among people
Exercise will help, as will good diet. Try reading a different sort of book than you normally do.
Se x might let you break this pattern, but it might not.
And I am gen X, not a boomer.
How much property do you own?
Not proposing to my wife 6 months earlier
>property
as in land
The family house, some farmland in the midwest, a mountain cabin, and a beachfront condo.
Why did those six months matter?
client calling, back soon
It's a semi-useful metric to determine if your source of validation is based on conformity to self-selected internal pursuits or based in external realities and affirmations of other people.
Go past the words and look at the concept. The concept of a beta is that of a man in servitude who enjoys servitude - and there is nothing wrong with that. But if you are to provide advice or guidance of life, you are to first identify yourself as the advice you provide will likely only serve those of a similar personality.
All the same, you're older than me and successful. I read only philosophy and other non-fiction. I'm not really interested in ascending or anything like that but I do find the stuff genuinely interesting. I don't want to be a degenerate buying sex but I just can't go on like this
Cool, im 18 and starting my military service soon, but i want to get an orchard in the midwest after. Ill have a small house for myself(from which i can do remote work) on the land and rent out the orchard(or hire someone to manage it for me). How realistic do you think my plan is? My dad can support me financially when starting out
Personally I would go buy some property as soon as you are able to. (When the property isn't too remote from society or in a dead city) I bought my first property on 20 with some little financial backing (payed everything myself though) and after some years I sold it for a good profit so I could move on to the next property.
I will not be serving in the US military so I don't think its a good idea to invest now.
Because I let fear control my decisions, a mistake I have tried to avoid ever since
I described the origins and such of the concept, so I feel I have established I have 'looked beyond'.
Besides, I already answered the question, remember?
A desire to change is good, and I do hope you can get past this
I put aside money to but property very early and never regretted it
How much would you recommend? Unfortunately i only managed to save up 11k so far...
the goal is something that generates enough money that if you finance it it pays for itself+.
We did the cabin after the house - renting it for vacationers returned about 105% of the mortgage, insurance, and fees on the cabin and we rolled the excess into the cabin's principle.
That plus a bonus here and there = paid it off in 6 years.
Then the condo - again, renting to vacationers = 104-106% of its costs so we rolled that *and* the cabin's income into principle, paid it off in 4 years.
Then rolled both into primary home (mortgage interest on your home = tax break, so we did it last) and pow! 2 years.
So now we can take vacations to the mountains or beach at will and have two streams of income.
We'l probably get into a real estate investment group soon to continue.
The land in the midwest was originally to help out a sibling, but it now also generates income from rents
It's all good. Do you grow your own food?
What do you qualify as a 'successful adult'? Sometimes I worry I'm letting my parents down since I don't have a significant other and no true job, I do digital illustration but don't make significant money. 22.
Also, how did you meet your wife? What made you fall in love with her?
Only herbs and some stone fruit
to me a successful adult is someone that can support themselves, is not an addict, and is not in prison.
My wife and I were set up on a blind date by mutual friends. It was love at first sight
Not him but how do you generate multiple streams of incomee
Tips to get back my ex? I want it really bad so don't tell me to forget her etc
>27yo
>went to uni
>worked two internships in marketing
Now here's the problem
>during the day I maybe have 1 to 1.5 hrs of good focus, the rest of the time I'm super unfocused, have serious trouble to focus at all on anything like 3 hrs of the work day
>make tons of slips and mistakes
>on top of that I'm pretty slow
How the fuck do I manage to actually get work done?
multiple rental properties is easiest; investments in dividends or T-bills is ok and T-bills are super easy to start with a small amount of money)
Be a good, virtuous person.
Let them know you want them back.
That's all anyone can do
Do you get enough sleep? Eat right? Get exercise?
Sleep 7 hours on average, I eat well, exercise a lot.
coffee? weed? other drugs? Alcohol?
IF you had to do it all over again and could only change one thing , what would it be?
Also you got any advice for a 22 year old that just graduated out of college and working on starting my career?
Never start smoking
Advice?
>Avoid all debt; if you have it, pay it off as fast as you can
>Don't let fear control your decisions
> Don't do what other people are doing just to blend in
>don't hang out with people you don't trust
grabbing lunch, back soon
Nothing that much. Coffee one cup once or twice a week, on one or two saturdays a month a beer or two, weed basically never. I don't know what it is. Everywhere I am is basically the same. I'm slow and make lots of mistakes. I'm not dumb by any measure, I get to know people easily and many like me quickly. But I just can't focus on my work for the life of mine
Good advice! Thanks!
I'm working on the first one right now, i accumulated very few student loans but that's my first priority right now. Not going to get a new car until its fully paid off. The idea of having two monthly loan payments scares me. I hate debt.
I hope one day i can be in your shoes, financial stable with someone you love and having kids with that person. That's my dream , and even surpasses my career goals.
I drink coffee everyday , punk. Its essentially legal cocaine if used right, so hop on the caffeine train.
Oldfag,
Is it normal to lose all your friends around the 26-29 mark? All mine are gone. Im alone. Is it normal to be friendless?
same but desu that was because of my own doing
I lost one because of my own doing, the rest juet got new friends that replaced me
I would see a doctor
Seriously!
It isn't uncommon. Things change, we move, people see things differently.
You can make more
Thats true. The problem is I left the country and I live somewhere that its difficult to find English speakers. I moved for my fiance, shes my only friend. To make it worse I live in a small town with her. My fiance is the best , but I feel like I need male friendship. I dont have a friend in the world.
I took a job across the country for a girl who i thought i loved and wanted to start my life with. Thus leaving all of my friends and family behind for her , probably the worst decision that i could of made considering she was unstable and cheated on me. That being said, this did open up my dream career to me something that i wouldn't of had back home. Life has a very interesting aspect of making the worst situations have some glimmer of hope.
I'll be leaving for the day soon, any more questions?
How often do your wife and you have sex. My gf isn't really into it anymore and so I'm guessing I'm to beta myself
we are consistent at just under 4 times a week, averaging out for menstruation/colds/etc vs when I am working from home and such
talk to her about it; any woman that expects a man to control *his* libido needs to be able to control *her* libido
Last Call
When will you come back? You are a nice guy to have around ~
Do you wake up feeling rested and refreshed? Do you feel that you are under a great deal of stress or anxiety?
I used to come once a week - I will try to be more frequent
thank you for your kind words
I am one of Those People - I jump out of bed at 5:30 am with a smile on my face and a song on my lips.
Thank you for all of your questions
