In the ancient Rome it was actually preferable to marry a woman that already had a child as to proof she was fertile and worth the time and effort of the man. Emperors would only marry a woman that had already given birth as their value were higher than unreliable women such as virgins. This caused many women to have promiscious sex from a young age to try and get pregnant so that they could find a husband after giving birth.
In the Greek City-State of Sparta what would happen is that when a woman gives birth instead of the Child being raised by his parents he would be raised by the community until the age of five. Nope. Spartans were renowned for their woman based governance more than their warrior code. They were also masters of propaganda, required to keep their majority slave populace under the fist.
