They can just rebrand it to represent a forum of common interests. They could, as they did on April fool's, start with upvotes. They could make it an advertising platform. As far as stifling and ruining specific boards...sure, that will take time. But the fact is, moot abandoned ship because it was an unfeasible business model - free speech doesn't pay for itself - so we are in the end times of this site.
