OP I think you are romanticizing these men's lives. I don't think plumbers are rolling in it quite as much as you think. However, if these men are getting laid a lot it is probably for other reasons.

Intelligence is good but it is not the only thing women care about. Women want power. If these men cannot dominate intellectually then they must be physically strong. Women need men to be protectors and providers. Ideally both but they will take one over the other sometimes.
