Between the two sections is a long truss, which has the hub at one end and a big box at the other where the actual space vehicles are built. This thing's been orbiting since the early 1990s and building other vessels on the far end of the 'truss' in the 'box.'
Ironically power is provided by simple boilers driving turbines, as well as solar panels and battery storage.
