There were several failed offensives in 1943 that are glanced over because it doesn’t look good for the mythology that surrounds the war. The Germans arguably had the best defensive tactics and strategy of the war. IE layered defense networks that would encourage the enemy to maneuver itself into the kill zone. However by 1944 the Soviets were fully motorized and being sent to the front in US made trucks and trains so that became null.

Soviet union "functioned" as a state because it was radically authoritarian. Authoritarianism is a functional (but unstable) system from achieving large scale human works.

The land lease provided a shitload of vehicles which allowed the red army to mechanise, and motorise. The Germans were still using fucking horses due to the disadvantages, just admit that your shitty dystopia was propped up by a bunch of imperialist, and capitalist superpowers in order to crush one of the last free nations on the planet.

So you're arguing about stuff that was pre-determined. Yes Stalin and FDR and Truman were actively conspiring and using each other to their advantage. They also agreed at Yalta that the soviets are gonna attack the Japanese in 3 months to help america.

When that freedom is compromised by big corporations and government corruption, it becomes Corporatism, which sucks but is still better than Communism, which kills and fails.
