Who is to say that a woman insisting her child is transgender isn’t doing so as a direct result of Post partum depression or psychosis? There’s a term in medical literature called “gender mourning” that often occurs in mothers diagnosed with ppd/ppp (statistically more likely with male offspring) where the mother blames all her stress and unhappiness on her baby not being the gender she preferred. In her derangement she convinces herself that the only way to alleviate her depression is by dressing the baby up in the other gender’s clothes and pretending the baby is the gender she wants it to be. This is literally the type of shit that makes kids grow up to be serial killers.
