account's empty anyway

Actually it does, look at the total Federal budget. Social Security is one of the biggest line items along with Medicare and Medicaid.

It most certainly does.
If out going obligations exceed incoming tax revenue, you'll see national debt climb.

The only way to handle that is either hope and wait till natural growth increases tax revenue while keeping expenditures at a stable level, lower existing obligations to put the country in surplus thus pay off the existing debt, or the third most common tactic, pay off the debt using newly printed money thereby increasing inflation and dropping the purchasing power of an individual dollar.

Yes, the you don’t like roads if you’re against socialism/big government argument. You sir are a fucking idiot.

>imagine typing all that.

I didn’t even read your post.

It's not that they don't like these things. It's just they don't trust government to keep their end of the bargain.

Social security can be a good thing, if, the next generation has a higher participation in the market for the many years to come, and if the government doesn't use the money to begin with.

But the problem is, the government HAS and will continue to use that money to fund their new institutions and programs they want to make.

Most entitlement programs are net losses and filled with bloat. Also general welfare must necessarily be available to the general public in order for me to accept this as a social agreement to protect one another. special categories is nothing but stealing from productive whites to give to unproductive minorities. Also you are a social security nigger.

Perfect example of why democracy doesn't work. People are so stupid that they can't even look at the budget or know what a ponzi scheme is.

>Social Security is one of the biggest line items
More than enough money hasw been depositied into Social Security directly from our paychecks. the money would have drawn $1 trillion in interest by now if spending spree Republicans hadn't blown it all on wars, corporate subsidies and Welfare for Billionaires

but it's money that wealthy people deserve more!

>social contract

That's literally the 8th grade argument for government. Read a book you stupid bastard.

Holy shit imagine not knowing what a fucking bond is. Whenever social security ran a surplus, it was given to other government departments in exchange for IOUs ("bonds"). All the money to come from any social security deficit is paid for from the budgets of those other departments that got money previously (that is, it's paid with taxes collected *that year*). It's a completely unsustainable debt and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying to you.

So all you gotta do is just type your words out on a solid color background and that changes them from false to true? Fascinating

This.
If you offered a retirement plan like social security as a private individual or corporation you’d be in federal prison before Christmas. SS is in trouble for two reasons 1) people are collecting benefits for more than a decade on average 2) there’s not 5+ people working/paying for each retiree. There was an article in the Atlantic that basically said we could “fix” what ails the welfare state by having more immigrant works come and pay taxes. I don’t believe the writer was stupid, I think his racism is most audacious. Have Central Americans come to the US to finance the golden years of white Americans and then drive them south of the border with whips once they get close to 65. And they say capitalism demands infinite growth.
