Productivity would fall. As it fell, people would get less wealthy. Infrastructure would not be maintained, causing productivity to fall even further. Government institutions would not be maintained because people would be too dumb to understand why things like freedom of the press are important. They would fall for strongmen who would engender corrupt politics.

The country would end up as a poor shithole trapped in poverty by the immense investment required to improve it and a government too busy lining its own pockets to make such an investment, and a people too stupid to realise and understand this situation.

Just look at all the nigger countries. Why are they so shit? Because corrupt people are in power and the citizens are too stupid to get them out and keep them out. So the government doesn't invest in the country and citizens can't start businesses and invest in technology that improves productivity.
