Boeing’s Latest 737 MAX Concern: Pilots’ Physical Strength

>Turning the manual crank during an emergency procedure may be too difficult for some people.

Our strength is in diversity, but it's not that kind of strength. That kind of strength is misogynistic.

fuck that, I'll get there on my own

Misogynistic airplanes built by misogynist men. This is why women need to be in charge of companies. We need more compassionate airplanes.

It's a good business model since when women design the planes they'll break down more often and cost more money to maintain.
>Oh, your manual emergency crank assist isn't functional? That'll be $10,000

Who doesn't want to get on a Title IX plane?

I am going to go into the side of a mountain at 700mph to show my commitment to diversity.

this is so unfair!!!

all boys should be forbidden to do any kind of physical or even outdoor activity, that would help develop their bodies and minds!

we will keep them inside with some sort of electronic games, tv shows and intersocial websites! also porn!

Your muslim female crew will be remembered as heroines.

Perhaps the engineers should transition to have a better perspective of what a flight crew truly needs to be successful through adversity.

To think they're going to redesign planes around vaginas while grounding capable pilots because penis is bad

This. You actually need a good grip strength to pilot a fucking massive jet airplane, who'd have guessed it?

Well that's problematic. We shouldn't talk about that.

This is why we need females to engineer the next generation of aircraft.

>leaf too stupid to understand that inputs in a fly-by-wire aircraft aren't connected to anything but artificial spring tension

White men are the only ones strong enough to build and fly planes black and brown people and women just crash them.

That's why I bacame a transperson to get preferential hiring.

I guess I can't say I'm too surprised, but that's a pretty stark difference.

The difference is only about 65%.

I was working on my car and had to loosen a rusted bolt.
Then it dawned on me.
Rust is a sexist misogynistic product of toxic masculinity.
I yelled at the bolt and told it the future is female and suddenly it began to loosen itself.
Was this close to calling my lawyer.

>implying that all aircraft are fly by wire
>implying haveing a manual back up system dosnt enhance saftety

Hans you must remeber that for system redundancy and and back ups to be effective they must come in the form of a variety of systems to be effective. For instance in a system if the primary and backup are bothe electronic, then in the case of a power failure your backup doesn’t acctually work and is a design failure that would risk the lives of all using the system.

I'd say that's pretty substantial. I don't know where exactly I fall on that, but as somebody who does work with his hands sometimes, I don't think only be able to use 2/3 of my grip strength would go unnoticed.

That's a lot of implying and very little on-topic you're writing there. 737MAX is fly-by-wire so what does it matter if other aircraft have cable or hydraulic steering. Same goes for redundancy, what does a crank input with inproper actuation force have to do with how you set up your aircraft as fault tolerant system.
The specs of human percentiles are known and there's a well defined range of humans a civilian cockpit has to accomodate. Boeing has an entire engineering department delegated solely to meeting those specs, so if they failed to achieve this on an arbitrary input device it means they failed, not that pilots are too wimpy to crank the aircraft out of a terminal nosedive
