More like they're speeding up the decentralization which is probably the best insurance against a 1984 scenario.
In worst case you'd have to expect them to shut down internet completely but they'd be pushing towards the development of alternatives like meshnet or a satellite network.
The decentralization tech was available for long time but there was no real push in that direction. But now there is huge amounts of development.
Regarding shutting down decentralized solutions like bitchute: practically you'd still have a magnet link to each video. I've no clue how they're cached but if they manage to fully decentralize it, the'll just have to mirror the frontend just like a usual torrent site.
This whole censorship thing is all in all a blessing for decentralized tech like p2p and blockchain. It's not really that bad
