What happens when all the ice melts?

>what is summer

then all that heat that was reflected back into space by the white ice gets absorbed into the now dark northern blue ocean and begin to heat it up exponentially

youtube.com/watch?v=qo3cznpfIpA

gog and magog appear from the hollow earth

So we will adapt?

Meh, so what

Just another mixed dataset phony graphic

If by "adapt", you mean "suffer and try to survive through a global catastrophe", then yes. When the climate starts depopulating the south and the migrant hordes truly are set in motion, it will be an age of psychopaths.

no, no sea ice up there means broken, chaotic jet streams, jet stream are those things that stabilize the temperature in the northern part of the glob and enable industrial agriculture. broken jet streams means weather too chaotic for agriculture, and most agriculture is in the north. so crop failure, so spikes in food prices so riots, massive migration, eventually civil wars like in Syria, total breakdown of organized society

youtube.com/watch?v=Z-QenYgC8oM

Cool so what are we doing about it?
Seems like blotting out the sun would be most effective whereas Green New Deal all but ensures we're still fucked thanks to the other major polluters

Always melts before refreezing entirely.

So it'll be completely melted for a month before refreezing entirely. Better stock up on ammo for sure THIS time.

Surely THIS statistic is the REAL sign of an impending global apocalypse.

You're worse than the morons who announce the horsemen are riding every comet that comes within a billion miles.

These niggas had the answer all along. Humanity needs a culling and take control of its own breeding, or else we have no future.

the melting of arctic sea is is an understandable fact. you can believe, you can not-believe it. it means jack shit.

>Always melts before refreezing entirely

when it refreezes it form thin ice, the multi year ice is gone. thin ice is shit ice. it means nothing,

Good.

Wouldn't it make more sense and be more feasible to cover the arctic with reflective material, as far as haphazard emergency PANIC MODE climate geoengineering stopgaps go? Because we at least KNOW for sure this must have fewer unintended and unforeseen consequences than putting a fucking sunscreen in space, given that the sun also makes photosynthesis and by extension carbon capture and oxygenation work.

Of course, it'd need to emulate all the properties of current sea ice as best it can, besides albedo/reflectivity, it can't just be a giant floating carpet, it needs to support the species up there already under severe stress as best it can by emulating how sea ice works, while also not posing a danger of anything going wrong and backfiring.

>data starting from 1979 which was minimum of cyclical global temperature cycle
Try again, fraud.

>hurr change the system
>durr if we dont do nuffin we die
As if "changing the system" wouldn't result in a global collapse

Oh yes. The nomadic tribes that live over the mountains which apparently were sealed off by Alexander the Great himself over 2300 years ago.

The only solution with a real cutting edge is a strict global population growth control, but people don't want to hear this.
1 child max per couple/woman.

This would solve so many problems in the mid.-/longrun.

-less pollution, less energy demand.
-slowing down climate change
-solving economic inequality
-cheaper real estate/house prices
-more space

In short:
-Increase of quality of life for everyone

it gets hot and stormy and then the planet goes full ice age. nobody talks about snowball earth but it's happened like a dozen times

We can choose which kind of collapse we get, and whether we just roll the dice or actively try to build something that works.

Lord,I hope so.

We don't know what works
Thats the entire fucking problem

pre industrial society worked, we need a green ISIS that will car bomb the electric grid and destroy all modern technology. no ports, no computers, not combustible engines, no data centers, no industrial agriculture, no data centers. green isis, whoever makes it makes it, whoever doesn't make it doesn't. chaos is fair at least

That would be unstable
Whoever uses modern technology/weaponry would simply conquer the rest

The perfect goy logic! Except China tried it and it resulted in a generation of little Emperors so vile they had to create a distopian social point system to control them.

Look again. At the current rate, the thicker and more persistant ice layers will disappear completely within our lifetime. All these positive feedback loops are gearing up and are currently preparing the lube. When Arctic and Siberian permafrost start melting and releases a few tens of millions of years worth of captured methane in the space of half a century it's game over. Oh, wait, that already started and there's nothing we can do to stop that (specifically).

The best we can do is turn at least 25% of all human energy and smarts into mitigation, reversal where possible, and hope we can slow these declines fast enough to cushion the blow for the remaining ~35% of species while we completely rethink the entirety of human consumption and impact. Completely eliminating carbon emissions is just one small step towards that end, expansion has to be halted and habitats need to be given back to recover, fishing needs to stop (maybe, just maybe we can afford ourself the luxury of farmed fish) and obviously pollution, pesticides and so on have to end. If we tackle all of this within a few years we have a chance, starting immediately.

Scientists need to publish the most accurate projections in order to get the ball rolling. If politicians refuse or hesitate for even a second it will be safer to remove our stock, finance and oil-addicted regimes with new democratic systems actually capable of dealing with the new realities. We're so badly out of time we can't afford mistakes or have the luxury of learning from them, humanity stands or falls now.

For most(70% or so) of this planet's history, our poles have been completely free of ice.
Ice at the poles is the exception, not the rule.

To be honest I don't beleave in man mads climate change. We are headed for a new ice age like clockwork. But still I am a minimalist and spend laughable amount of shekels monthly despite making 10 more then the people around me. Minimalisum is neccesary for the soul more then it is for the planet.

That is fucking dumb and you know it, a world war against all governments and shitskins anywhere close to where whites live would be way more effective at curbing emissions

Im more for the ecofascist model. The climate will not recover until we exterminate the subhumans and reduce populations to sustainable levels.

The vast majority of humans are more or less useless except as consumers. I say we automate as much of our industry as possible then proceed to reduce the population to atlest under 1 billion. Doesn't even necesarily have to be violent, though in many regretable cases it probably would be. Simply begin sterilizing those deemed unable to contribute to humanity at a certain level. After a century of gradual steps you could reach the goal, and then maintain a healthy population at a comfortable level of existence via population control and eugenics. Maybe keep a few small captive populations in living museums and sanctuaries to remind and educate the young how horrible things can get when you simply allow talking monkeys to fuck and eat thier fill with no regard for consequences.

>with new democratic systems actually capable of dealing with the new realities
Democracies aren't capable of dealing with this. If they actually implemented the harsh measures necessary, boomers and x-ers would just vote them out next election because their living standards dropped. Authoritarian systems are our best bet.

No. The middle east and the Balkans. Why do you think the Jew is depopulating these places so thoroully for the past century. Bulgarians alone are the world fastest dissapearing nation. And everyone is leaving the Middle East yo freaze in Wester Europe.

this isn't "ice free"

"ice free" is when there were alligators in the north pole. the Eocene

youtube.com/watch?v=ldLBoErAhz4

We get it, you like Joy Division. Fuck off.

Agreed. Democracies are ineffective at dealing with complex issues. Personally, I think that this is going to end up being a problem that corrects itself. Disease, resource wars, famine, and rendering of large population centers uninhabitable (ie southern california running out of enough water sources for its massive populace) will end up reducing populations until things stabilize and cultural and technological adaptations can be made.

Everybody saw WW1 coming and not only failed to prevent it, but ended up having to fight another one only 20 years later. Democracies have always failed to prevent global crises. I think that if you look at the history of humanity its pretty apparent that we don't learn lessons or gain motivation to change until large numbers of deaths start ocurring.

Ice age bacteria gets released into the ocean killing off a lot of the food supply and infecting regular drinking water when sea levels rise.

More water on the oceans and hot means more rainfalls, right? More clouds full of rain will also lower the temperature of the land, right?

It won't be all the ice. It'll just be the summer sea ice. Two things will happen:

1. Lowered albedo, or reflectivity. Less ice means less light reflected back into space.

2. Blue water that didn't exist before absorbs the light that should have been reflected into space. This makes the ocean heat up even faster and more ice melts even earlier in the summer creating a positive feedback. This is bad.

These changes are directly responsible for our fucked up jet stream and all the crazy weather in the last couple years. It's going to get way worse faster and faster until the crops we're growing fail. Agriculture needs to fundamentally change right now.

Guy, we have to go green!
>But says nothing about even just the polluting nature of transporting goods and service.

>complex issues
there have always been issues; it's the animal kingdom that adaps to the environment, not the other way around
if we kill off the bees, shit'll get bad, but given enough time a new form of bee will arrive on the scene, probably born with a genetical equivilant to a gasmask

typical green politician:
>Drives in a motorcade of fuel guzzling armored SUVs
>When he's not flying everywhere on a private jet all by himself
>Only eats expensive luxury foods that are also flown and trucked from around the planet
>enacts expensive impossible to meet mandates for climate preservation
>while dodging taxes, and not complying with any sort of regulation at every opportunity he can

>YOU ALL NEED TO ACCEPT A LOWER QUALITY OF LIVING AT HIGHER COSTS IF WE ARE TO SURVIVE!

We need that manufacturing capability, infrastructure and academia in order to engineer at least some solutions (not to imply those will enable us to carry on as usual, far from it, but things are so bad geo-engineering is now practically an unavoidable piece of the puzzle). Not to mention returning humanity to a modern medieval/ghettoified state will if anything accelerate meat consumption, land exhaustion and bring with it even worse farming as collapsing societies struggle to feed people. You're not going to stop starving people from burning even more forests in order to grow crops or raise livestock, both of which are among the primary causes of how fucked we are.

What we can do is stop fucking around and end unnecessary meat consumption, emissions, all pollution, all deforestation, everything that's killing habitats and extincting species.
>pre industrial society worked
At a scale much smaller than where we are now, and we STILL extincted a large percentage of species before we ever came up with industrial farming or the steam engine. So no. Think what happens when billions people start going hungry and all decide to hunt for and war over food, or burn just a tiny bit more of forest to fulfill the dream of living off the land.

In addition, any threat of terrorism in whatever form will immediately lose you any and all support, which you need, in addition to bring down the full destructive might of the system on you and everyone you ever talked to. Elites thought they could build safe havens in New Zealand but need to get it through their thick skulls there won't be a Planet B in their lifetimes and we really are all in this together. Terraforming Mars is a 1000-year endeavor, and even that is wildly optimistic.

Come on, be smart about this, I know how bad things are, but if enough people make our collective willpower and smarts to bear we can do our best and will stand at least a chance. In fact it's probably the only chance we'll get.

>What happens when all the ice melts?

You should start with yourself. Why would I care what you have to say if even you don't take yourself seriously?

I like this and I'm from California.

cringe and bluepilled

I guess I'll need a boat

Checked. It will all be over soon

>age of psychopaths
white win.
We're the most psychotic people on this planet but we've heavily repressed it.
If pushed far enough WW2 will look pleasant by comparison.

>while we completely rethink the entirety of human consumption and impact
That will never happen. If there was any hope of that we wouldn't be importing millions of subhumans into countries with high per person carbon dioxide output.

We can't even do things that would help QOL in totallity we will never give up our hollow lifestyles and make a sacrifice.

Why dont we just build giant white panels that cover places

The real problem here is of course overpopulation. Now, lots of REALLY STUPID MOTHERFUCKERS here on Jow Forums will tell you overpopulation is a myth, because hurr "we got plenty of space".
It's not about space, though space is important because living close together is disastrous for mental health. But overpopulation is about the use of resources and more importantly the production of waste.
7 billion humans put out a shit-ton of waste. Sewage, but also chemical waste from agriculture and manufacturing. This waste is building up faster than the planet can naturally biodegrade it. This is the cause of so much of our social problems. We cannot escape the pollution from our farming and manufacturing. It's in our food and water, and even the air.
And to feed 7 billion people, you need lots of space for agriculture. This means habitats need to be cut down to make room for farmland, and these habitats would normally serve to clean up our waste.

Right now there are about 6.7 billion unneeded humans on earth. There is zero good reason for our population to be this high, we'd be just as safe with a modest 250,000,000 pop. No other large animal has anywhere close to our population numbers, and for good reason. Larger animals require more space and more resources. Top predators are especially limited in their numbers, and humans are by far the top predators on earth.

We're too damn perverted and have too much sex and make too many kids. That's our heightened dopamine for you.

Attached: 1374526670200.png (300x300, 43K)

Very well put. Its not going to stop. You can build all the solar plants and windmill farms you want in the 1st world, brazilians arent going to stop bulldozing rainforest for nutella, coffee, and chocolate farm. China isnt going to stop scouring every living thing they can find from the ocean for food.

Its not any one group that can accomplish anything meaningful, it will have to be a globalized concerted effort to have any chance of having a noticeable effect.

I really don't see that happening until you have entire populaces being wiped out bad enough to really scare people into action. And humans being humans, the action everybody decides on could just as easily be some stupid bullshit like a nuclear exchange as it could a scientific or engineering breakthrough.

You fuckers have demons dormant inside of you.

500,000,000 white people obviously because white people are the only ones who care about Nature.

>Last time white people got truly pissed off we learned to split the atom
Really makes you think

kind of you to say fren.
I'd rather we didn't have to kill one another, but the kikes keep pushing non-whites into our countries and non-whites keep coming.
I genuinely believe we could co-exist in separate nations.
Separate but equal.
But it won't happen, so millions will die.
There are 750 million people on this planet.
There might be another 6 billion or so humans.
This is why we need to get into space.

becouse you cant build a structure that big, and besides, the open ocean there provides new opportunities for gas and oil drilling and trade routes for ships. get it? there will never be a consensus for that.

you can try geoengineering but that will be the crime of the millennium since no one can grantee what unintended consequences that will have. it could lead to a man made catastrophe of unprecedented scale

suck a dick or kys
your choice

Look upon the panicking immaturity of NPC animals who think Humans as beasts and see Earth as the only place to be. Look at him embrace and suffer his limits and instincts. Watch him reason away his superiority for nothing.

This planet is larger than you know. This universe is larger than you know. We have infinite space and infinite resources. 8 billion? Another sheep incapable of understanding percentages and large numbers. As population grows, everything grows with it, everything good, and everything bad. We are made up of both and require both. When we are spread across 1000 stars and number in the tens of trillions you will see entire solar systems burning under the weight of our negativity while other entire galactic sectors flourish under the might of our positivity.

You are weak and not fit to be a Human. You should have been born a cow.

We need to sterilize africa and china, full stop

Have you seen the projections estimating africa alone will have 5B people by 2050? Fucking awful

>There are 750 million people on this planet.
>There might be another 6 billion or so humans.
Point taken, but the extreme overpopulation is still the greatest problem. All the green energy you could conceive of can't solve this problem or even make it slightly better. You can't grow food without chemical waste being produced and billions of humans require an obscene amount of chemistry and produce an obscene amount of waste.

There's no such thing as a perpetual balance with nature
At some point an asteroid or a cosmic ray will hit the earth and fry us no matter how many people there are, or at the very least the sun will eat us.
If we somehow manage to get off this planet and start colonizing space then what the fuck does balance with nature mean?

>but the ice is melt-
>LA underwater
Proceed.

>that post
Bullshit.

Attached: qt rly.jpg (1280x720, 133K)

Balance with nature means turning people into cattle.

Who cares. Melt the fucking lot. Let the future, the niggers, the slicks, the sand niggers and sexual deviants breath black air. Let there homes flood. Let their economy and cities drown.

Fuck you. Fuck the global warming meme

cringe

I mean, we're kind of already at that point. We've dumped poison into the air we breathe, water we drink, and food we eat. We have systematically dismantled complex ecological processes that normally serve to regulate these build ups. We have increased the lifespan of which a person can consume resources whikst effectivley leaving the amount of time they can actually contribute anything to the species more or less the same.

Frankly, I'd say we're already looking down the barrel of one of the bloodiest, hungriest, most plague ridden century in human existence. We'd better figure SOMETHING out, because our grandchildren and great grandchildren are going to be eating eachother in the ruins we leave behind if we don't.

wow it's fucking nothing

brb writing check to algore

Not my experience, here they actually cycle and use public transport and afaik aren't hypocrites. Might be different in the US, obviously if you're green party and don't do everything in your power to also eliminate your own contribution to the problem then you're fake af.

Also, calling for people to stop eating red meat and drastically reduce overall meat and fish consumption, start using public transport and cycle, and so on and so forth in no way constitutes "lower quality of living" when it so clearly helps prevent damn near everyone being reduced to "no quality of living" as most of perish due to famine, wars etc. and if you've ever done these things for yourself you would know that it's not lower anything.

Caricatures are pointless here when Green parties at least address and properly weight the severity of the problems while few others even take it seriously.

Also while your ecofacism will likely do nothing but accelerate declines as game theory and selfish genes dictate everyone, understandably, will want to survive and this shit has zero merit whatsoever and will actually rob us of our one and only chance to halt this, unfortunately that's probably the non-solution that elites will opt for out of sheer stupidity and short-sightedness.

lNice arguments, shitskins. Enjoy your garbage thread about nothing

Much of that video is straight up misinformation.

Absolutely, green energy is a farce and the levels of consumption are utter out of control.
We're like a colony of bacteria who have expanded to the edge of the Petri dish and are about to start to consume the remaining nutrients.
Once that is done the colony cannibalizes itself and collapses to nothing.
The thing being is that there are several colonies of bacteria on this dish and two of them are able to leave the dish or take over the dish in such a way to make living sustainable.
But we would need to abandon humanism, liberalism and pretty much all our 'modern' values to achive either solution.
As we go we are on course for disaster.
Nuclear power will help out for a time, but it's just extending the suffering.

hoover.org/research/flawed-climate-models

Im glad im not a pessimist retard.

I'm a chemist. I know the numbers.

>pessimist
I wouldn't say so.
Nature will re-assert the balance or whites will find a way to leave the planet permanently.
Short term blackpill, long term whitepill.
We're probably fucked now, but we can create a world in which our descendants can live and thrive.

Frankly, you seem a hell of a lot more educated on the matter than I am. But, the problem I see in your arguement is that it SLOWS the process but doesnt FIX it.

So we all stop eating meat and fish and whatnot. Okay. But even then when theres 20 billion people all trying to live off of basedbeans and rice when only a small percentage of the planet is arable then that shit doesnt mean anything except buying us a few decades.

Whenever we've created a buffer like you speak of in the past populations simply increased to erase the surplus. zgrow 20% more food? 2 generations later youve got 25% more populace. Find a way to get 50% more oil? 20 years later theres 65% more demand.

So yeah, I agree theres non-intrusive and violent ways to reduce our impact, but thats not going to be enough. We need to activley manage our population as well.

You are an absolute retard

The world we have now isnt under threat at all. The loss of biodiversity is sad but thats about it.
Humans are going through a population collapse. We arnt going to consume nature until there is none less. We are urbanising more and more. That means more land returned to nature.
As AI and automation reduces the need for human labour and increases efficiency we will conceivable need less and less energy while doing more and more with it.
World hunger is over. Now its world diabetes that the WHO worries about.

Africans wont spread like a plague. Every generation after first generation Africans has fewer kids. Actual Africans themselves will soon afford contraception and enormous families will be a huge negative as they urbanize and they are urbanizing.

War, famine and disease used to do this.
The answer is to either crash all society back to per-industrial revolution, which would be very difficult.
Or go into space, which is difficult but achievable.
We need to focus more on the now than the environmental future as without the now no future can exist.
No other people can deliver the world from its eventual demise and the extinction of humanity.

Massive sea level rise and inundation of coastal areas. Runaway warming causes accelerated desertification, deforestation and drought. Disruptions of El NiƱo/jet stream. Food and water crisis coupled with massive population transfers leads to geopolitical chaos. Large tracts of poor and swooping countries are rendered non viable for human habitation (China, India, Bangladesh, sub-saharan Africa, Brazil, etc).

The worst calamity in world history.

nooo, you have to give up all your freedoms and follow St. Thunberg or you will burn, this time not in hell, but on the earth
