Since talentless control freaks decided to be architects. The statement that 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder' is simply an excuse to make any garbage with minimal backlash from critics (who were part of the brutalist circle-jerk anyway).
This line of reasoning completely undermines real talent and attention to detail. The brutalist movement started with the architect Le Corbusier who believed that people should be treated like machines. And no, he wasn't a Jew, we was a Swiss German.
