How come you respected Mexicans back in the days of the old West but now you don't?
Back then a scruffy greasy dirty Mexican bandit would share his bottle of whiskey with a scruffy greasy dirty white outlaw and they would both have mutual respect for each other and sit there chatting and drinking whiskey after a long day. Even the ones that chased each other down and battled still had honor and respect for each other.
Yet now you are treating the illegals as if they are scum of the earth trash.
Whenever i watch an old Western like The Wild Bunch or The Big Gundown, the white outlaws seemed to hold Mexicans to a higher standard than you do now.
>todays world is just like a Hollywood movie from the 60s How fucking stupid are you OP? Do you eat the box the cereal comes in? You're not supposed to.
>How come you respected Mexicans back in the days of the old West but now you don't?
Most western films and TV shows from the 50's and 60's depicted Mexicans as savages and criminals, which is accurate actually.

alot of mexican nationals fought for texas independence. was a different time.

A good example is how the whites in the Treasure of the Sierra Madre have a deep respect for the Federales and even the local villagers but enjoy shooting at total scumbag bandits.
have you been around modern mexicans? all they do is walk around with hot cheeto fingers and sandals, the women wear spandex that is 3 sizes too tight and the guys all try to act all hood while drinking tall boys. their culture has been turned to shit and it’s hard to respect them at all now
Respecting your opponents is not the same as tolerating them. You can respect them as a fighter, their goals, their endurance, their skills. However, at the end of the day, he is your enemy, and your goals come first, even if his are admirable.

>a scruffy greasy dirty Mexican bandit would share his bottle of whiskey with a scruffy greasy dirty white outlaw Nope. Never happened. Racism was rampant and normal back then. Gringos and beaners didnt mix. even if they were outlaws. Mexico and America have always been political enemies.

Hollywood is propaganda that's why. Have you ever noticed that Hollywood completely misses an entire major American War? None of those western films ever mention the Mexican-American War which was the most important event that happened in that area at that time. After the war there were loads of these veterans that would wander those regions looking for opportunities. After they were discharged from the Mexican-American War they were given the horse and a rifle and that's how that image of a Wandering Rider came about. They were not called Cowboys are called the Rough Riders. Hollywood attempted to erase the Mexican-American War and try to build an image of that period which is a laughable anachronism. Has anyone here even though ever heard of the Mexican-American War? Pic related that is the territory that America gained in that war hardly insignificant
>How come you respected Mexicans back in the days of the old West but now you don't? Because back during the days of the Old West, Mexicans were regarded as hard-working Vaqueros, they're a far cry from the welfare parasites of today.
David Ortiz
Interesting post, thanks. I just recently watched a couple of documentaries on the Mexican-American war
Tyler Nelson
you realize the Mexicans whom lived in Texas, fought for texas independence, became Americans. Had their land and wealth stolen by the white Americans? Same shit to all the Mexicans that became Americans after the treaty of Guadalupe. White Americans schemed with each other to take Mexican-American lands.

Be thankful they didn't annex the entirety of your nation.

its almost as if you had your own country full of mexicans right next door! I'm sure after the Mexican revolution your enlightened leaders were so tolerent of white communities in Mexico

movies are fictional. also, the mexicans in all the old westerns could speak english.

do you know whats in the little dangley part of southern New Mexico? I'm guessing we wanted something there and it was later part of the Gadsden Purchase?
Juan Lewis
Because most of the Mexicans actors they got were Castizio. Also the Mexicans in the wold west didn't depend on gibs. They actually had to work.
>whites used to respect spics back in the wild west Davy Crockett would like to have a word with you.

Those movies are about the criminals and degenerates of the day. Modern white oitlaws like biker gangs and white prison gangs get along fine with the mexican gangs and buy drugs from them, trade guns to them, etc. So it's still the same today, white criminals get along with Mexican criminals

Yeah the part below the Mexican Cession was the Gadsden purchase which we bought after the Mexican-American War supposedly for the reasons of train but I think we bought it to make it appear as though we legitimately got the land.
Carson Taylor
Yeah Mexican American War veterans were given his payment a horse and a rifle so right after the war there were lots of these white guys just wondering the plains with a horse and a gun. That's the image of the cowboy as we call them today although they weren't herting cattle really. They caused trouble occasionally but mostly we're looking to settle the new territories in Arizona New Mexico and California. Some of those areas are very fertile.
