You're supposed to hear static until a broadcast comes in. Click the squelch box and wait, fren.

First. Don't use 8992 if a newfag. You will mistake French fishing boats and JORN radar for "Russian jamming". All you newfags do.

Use 11175. Select USB, widen to 2.7 kHz, select squelch (it will mute the static) and then wait. EAMs and KANGS don't go out all the time. They happen randomly and it could be an hour or two before you hear one.
