the idea behind communism was that if a customer pays $5 for a product, it's not fair for $4.50 to go to a capitalist who doesn't do anything while only $0.50 goes to the workers who made the product with their labor. but the millennial "communists" make it sound like the unfair part is that the customer has to pay anything for the product at all. do these people just think products appear out of thin air? do they believe everything should just be free? it's honestly confusing and I can't make any sense of it, there's no internal consistency at all. it's like they want to keep all the benefits of american excess consumerism but with none of the drawbacks, they want to have their cake and eat it too. it's like they took the idea of "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need" and just scratched out the first part. and also expanded "need" to include wants, as if a fucking new iPhone is a necessity of life.
