That article raises some interesting points, but ultimately fails to consider a number of things.
It primarily focuses on the right's lack of organization. It's not that the right doesn't know how to organize--it's that they are institutionally, systematically prevented from doing so. The left doesn't seem to appreciate the fact that, for as anti-establishment as they like to think they are, they are not treated as dissidents by the establishment.
As a "righty": Show up to a protest? The media will frame you in the worst way possible, no matter what. Get attacked by antifa? They get let off with a slap on the wrist. Defend yourself from antifa? Get the book thrown at you and get made an example of. Start or join a militia? Hope you enjoy being best buds with Special Agent Joe, undercover Detective Roberts, and Federal Agent John. Organize with people online? Sorry, you've been banned. Make your own website? We regret to inform you that we will no longer process your payments, and your domain name has been seized.
The right's advantage here is that much of its organization is low-level, tight-knit, and organic: the family, the church, the small-town neighborhood, the comrades you served in the military with. These groups might not form together in a political sense, but you can be damned sure they'd band together in the case of civil conflict. Can the same be said for the motley crew of sheltered champagne socialists and low-IQ third worlders the left has thrown together? (I'm sure large parts of the right would fight with zealous religious conviction if organized properly, as well.)
Furthermore, it's foolhardy to discount the right's claim that they'd have the upper hand in a civil conflict, because there's a lot of honest truth to it. The comparison of the Yankees vs. the Confederacy is spurious, because that was an instance of warfare between two uniformed militaries, which is almost certainly NOT what a "Civil War 2" would be.

It IS true that, by and large, the military is right wing. And guess what? This is ESPECIALLY true of those in combat roles (people tend to forget that there is a delineation between combat roles and support roles), especially ground combat and, most interestingly, special operations. Do you want to know what 90% of what our ground troops and special operations have been doing in the ME? Training local forces. Do you want to know the entire purpose of the Green Berets? Training insurgent forces. Do you want to know who the right would be getting training and logistical/organizational assistance from? Guess. (Also, on a similar note, let's not forget that the left is on an insane anti-Russia bend, so I wonder who the Russians would decide to support in Civil War 2...)
