I never really bought this. The 1970s was definitely the start of modernization and overabundance, but their would still be loads of families who could not afford shoes for their children, or who had to grow most of their own food, build their own house from trees and hand tools, and install these own water and sanitary system by hand as their was no way they could afford to spend money on any of there things.
