I am saying that the EU adopts English as its official language. The EU states would keep whatever languages they prefer. But trade, diplomacy, business and regulations are exclusively done in English (it already de facto is the case).
The EU could then promote English in other areas where it makes tons of sense, e.g. at technical and hard science universities, in the tech sector generally or when dealing with authorities as an alternative route to the local language (again, something that is de facto possible in many cointries).
Last time I checked the Dutch had a culture of their own. If you don't like others, stop obsessing over it and demanding more of it, and start making your own movies, music etc.

Not sure how this is relevant. Europe needs to be able to communicate. De facto everyone already uses English when on holidays anywhere in Europe or to speak to work colleagues when there is no common language basis.
My own experience is like this:
- Poland, I don’t speak Polish, but I was able to easily talk to local young people in Warsaw and Krakow in English
- Greece: older people hate English, but all the younger ones speak it
- Sweden and Finland: every taxi driver is ok with English, anyone in shops, bars, in business, no problems at all
- Russia: only country in Europe I have been to where English doesn’t help you that much... well maybe also some Spanish areas are problematic with English only, I had to speak my broken Spanish or use Google translate
France: whenever I tried my rudimentary French, the young people would speak in English, whenever I spoke English first, they would be irritated and only reluctantly speak English
England: depends on the area, but English can be rather useful there, except maybe in East London
