Climate change is real, I say this as someone who leans heavily right wing.
However, the "climate scientists" that say its a major threat are just making subjective inferences, which shouldnt be taken too seriously. Remember that water is 99% of the atmosphere and is a more stronger carbon gas than CO2. CO2 is less than 1% of the atmosphere but will stay up longer causing more water to evaporate.
If climate change is real then we are fucked anyway, trying to fix it is beyond a pipedream.

Well we require oxygen to breathe (and survive), so cutting down too many trees is a bad idea (unless they are replanted on nature strips), because trees produce oxygen from CO2 (humans breathe out CO2, and industrial production produces a lot of CO2). I don't know how many trees per person, or how many trees per car, or how many trees per specific industry are required for the population.
The CO2 gets stuck in some part of the atmosphere and causes the earth to warm up more than what the earth should be warming up.
In terms of industry, some of the crappy industries are damaging the environment with bad practices (Adani is the only one I know). The bad practice industries do not dispose of waste by-products correctly, and cause the cost of cleaning up after them to be vastly higher than what it would of costed if they disposed of the waste correctly or if they produced the product in a different way. In general Western countries have many laws preventing these bad practices. While other countries are much worse, I know South America is really bad in terms of production industry waste disposal, and I hear that China is really bad, but I'm not entirely sure.
Anyway to answer your question about climate change, not a myth. But then again the western countries are doing a better job in keeping their area habitable. Other countries not so much.
