Italians of Jow Forums - how do you feel about the fact that Mussolini *almost* succeeded in purging Italy of the Mafia?
How do you feel about the fact that the Allies got into bed with the remnants of the Mafia in order to better deal with the Peninsula?
How do you feel about the fact that this led to Mafia reclaiming their stranglehold on Italian society?
How do you feel about the Mafia in general?
Is it true that the Mafia is what is holding Italy back as a nation, or, is this more the fault of weak and traitorous politicians and idealogues, as with other western nations?
In an alternate world, what do you think Italy would look like today if Mussolini had succeeded in destroying the Mafia completely?
Not Italian but when I visited there a few years ago the damage was obvious. In naples the streets are covered in trash and tour guides warn you about the dangers. Weird stuff man.

Thank you for the bump. I hope Italibros see this thread so I can get some answers firsthand.

It is way more complicated. Mafia was the ally of christian democracy during the cold war, and granted the votes that the centrists were in need of, because they had to stop the communist party AT ALL COSTS, otherwise we would probably have been on the other side of the courtain. We feel extremely angry about mafia, he is basically ruining everything everywhere. Mafia is definetly holding us back, but together with traitorous politicians and their ideologies. The problem now is EU.

> Cesare Mori *almost* succeeded in purging Sicily of the Mafia...
There are many different Mafia groups, and now we have even the nigerian one...
Old mafia's son now have Phd and are mixed in the economic and productive tissue where they constantly reinvest they dirty business money and are difficult to spot if you don't have whistleblowers...
Mafia is hard to tackle because it offers to everybody a short and easy way to make money and became rich...

Along with this, how do you feel about US creating the years of lead?
I live in a village in the north of Italy. An illustrious poltician of the past that came from my village was appointed governor of a Sicilian province once, and to deal with mafia problem he put mafiosi on boats, took the boats far away into the sea and sink them. Based. 1880s.

Every foreign power had something to do in the years of lead.

>Nigerian mafia in italy B L A C K E D Seriously though, sorry to hear that. So I take it the mafia still follows a family bloodline? If thats the case, can regular italians name the families who are behind it all?
Luke Stewart
>Roberto Saviano Sounds like a brave guy. >took the boats far away into the sea and sink them He's like an anti NGO. Creative.
Thomas Hall
Same. Interesting topic. What exactly does the mafia control/ruin?

>Is it true that the Mafia is what is holding Italy back as a nation YES >In an alternate world, what do you think Italy would look like today if Mussolini had succeeded in destroying the Mafia completely a "first world" country like UK, France, Germany
Mussolini succeeded because the only way to purge these subhumans is with mass executions of any1 related to a mafia family, relatives, granpas, kids included. NOTHING ELSE will erase this cancer

I've heard dirty mafia money is so prevalent and engrained in the EU monetary circulation that bringing them down would bring down the entire eurozone. They're also very deeply engrained into Italian society, nearly every single business or company in Italy will have mob ties in one way or another
Benjamin Taylor
>Mafia was the ally of christian democracy during the cold war, and granted the votes that the centrists were in need of How the fuck does mafia grant votes in a democracy? Like, does it get like a couple of million ballots?
Gabriel Adams
>Mafia is hard to tackle Nah. Legalize drugs, legalize prostitution - end the mafia.
Bentley Long
>Roberto Saviano not ironically he is a Zionist Jew. more than criticizing the mafia he sometimes seems to glorify it to make money, but if you are interested in the subject he has written interesting things
Jose Garcia
Mafia on itself is a form of libertarian anarchy. A form of syndicate meant to oppose the corrupt oligarchy. What's de difference between the cosa nostra and the italian government? officialism and semantics.
Alexander Bell
>saviano
Did you look at his face? He is an ethnic sephardi jew who only makes tons of money with mafia
"Son of Luigi Saviano, a Neapolitan doctor, and Miriam Haftar, a Ligurian of Jewish origins"
It means that even if you know something you don't talk about the subject because it's dangerous, and if you don't know you will never learn about...
Its the real conundrum from wich stems many south italy problems...

>eliminating the mafia is a flip of a switch. >flip of a switch You mean full scale thermonuclear war? how else would you get rid of all governments, err I mean all the mafias?
Dominic Stewart
>If thats the case, can regular italians name the families who are behind it all? A lot of the mafia members are publicly known, like this guy here: youtube.com/watch?v=-lCq4gD3M48
Now, in short, only very few people are professional enough to not convey to at least somebody about there wrongdoings. So every mafia criminal has people who know what he's doing.
I once watched a documentary and they were interviewing all sorts of mafia members. Now, I was astonished to basically realize that all the mobsters looked like kikes - they were a bit browner and had those peaky large noses, and all the reporters digging into what's going on (like the guy in the vid above) and trying to bring the mafia down looked more like white people (Germanic/Slavic genetics). It's on yt, and it's too late for me to find it now.
But yeah, a lot of people know about a lot of people. Some of them have even been on TV, confronted by reporters. So it's not like this completely dark and secret world.

Isn't the mafia headed by Jews, or is that just the American portions of it?
Brody Reed
# Sounds like they took some pages out of the PRI's book in Mexico. They ran what ended up being what was considered a perfect dictatorship and they still do to this day.
Sebastian Lee
>Legalize extortion, legalize human trafficking, legalize protection rackets - end the mafia.
that means our entire government is literal mafia, except they don't pay you, they blackmail by keeping the public sector bloated (so they can blackmail voters into voting for them or risk losing job)
Carter Perez
Mafia it's not only about classic criminal stuff, like drugs and prostitution, that's the easy part... mafia is strong because provides also jobs, incomes, security, houses, support where it's not provided by the state. It's called "antistato". Also the local political links are strong and they can use them for or against you, your family, your company... The price for the services is your life and your freedom. You are in debt with them, you are seriously fucked.

we should build a wall cutting off the south from the rest of italy could have liberalized gun ownership but terroni keep voting for left of controlled opposition parties

Why don't you just declare martial law in hotspots until the mafia is weeded out?

Male 31 here. Dating an italian national chick 28. She came to canada to study. Let me tell ypu this about her. She is on board with all of Jow Forumss views. Its very refreshing. Im probably gonna marry her. It gives me hope that noy all women are on board with (((their))) views. Photo is unrelated. I put a drill bit through my thumb yesterday. I was refinishing an old garden tool. It hurts.
According to john dickies book, cosa nosta, Mussolini set out to destroy the mafia, but then called it off, when he realised that in many areas they were his main supporters.
