Gentlemen. My Gillette cartridges I bought probably a year ago are starting to get extremely dull. I'm creating this thread in the hopes one of you fine men could offer me your recommendations for alternative shaving equipment. My father told me to avoid Harry's because their razors were complete shit and since he's my father, I trust his word considerably. What are these safety razors I've been hearing about? What do I need? Any suggestions? Thanks lads.

Dont shave. get a Wahl clipper for your neck and learn to cut your own hair. Shaving is for women.

Dude they sell bootleg razor refills on ebay: ebay.com/itm/4pcs-Set-Mens-For-MACH-3-Blades-Razor-Shaving-Shaver-Trimmer-Refills-Cartridges/202409383247

I tried Harry's and they seem fine to me but I don't know I don't have strict standards but I liked it better than the gillette one that had 4 blades or whatever I used to get Mach 3 but Harry's is better price and same or better quality

Those reviews look great. I think I'll pass, but thanks.

Double edge. Way cheaper and as long as you can manage not to move it sideways like a retard and only down it works better than the multi. But I second get a hair trimmer and put the 1/4” guard and clip it Monday mornings

This scene was the most insidious of that entire faggot commercial. Rough and tumble play is critical for a young man’s development. Preventing your son from engaging in it will lead him to becoming a whiny pussy.
“Boys will be boys is problematic hurrrr” fucking faggots.

Buy a safety razor with astra blades, they last forever.

Get every man jack if you're in the us/canada area

Razor companies are failing because it's stylish to have groomed facial hair now. Many styles exist, and it's becoming more and more popular.
Not many people shave anymore by comparison to 30 years ago.
Everyone gets away with the electric nowadays.
Razors are old school in many people's opinions.
To answer your question, Dollar Shave Club is good- couple buddies of mine use them and they are happy. I've heard good things about Harry's too.

Cheers my increasingly scruffy fren.

I will, I just need some more information. I need blades, I understand that. I'm gonna get this variety pack:
amazon.com/Double-Edge-Razor-Blade-Sample/dp/B01N6EEZ60/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=feather blade variety pack&qid=1567732031&s=gateway&sr=8-4
I'll also get a few cases of the feather blades considering they're fairly cheap and I hear good things about them on here. Also, made in nipon. Almost guaranteed to have no jew involvement.

I need the handle, which I think I'll go with the Merkur, also seen that suggest on here. Is there anything else I need besides the shaving cream? Can I just use the same stuff I was using before, barbasol? Also, I've never shaved using a safety razor, how hard is it? I won't completely murder my face the first time I do it, right?

You could always buy a straight blade and learn that, you'd also learn basic sharpening and stropping which is a life skill with all blades (camp, hunting, kitchen knives etc.). plus, women will think you're a complete badass.

Attached: 1559519454311.jpg (737x1024, 112K)

Go electric. Less hassle and cheaper on the long run . Braun makes the best shavers but is now owned by P&G just like Gillette.

Merkur is good.
I use astra, but you can use whatever blades you want.
Buy a badger too, it's more comfy. You can use a soap bar if you forgot to buy shaving soap.
It's easier and faster to shave with a safety razor but check on jewtube first, you might cut yourself in the neck at first.

get a good double edge safety razor. try some Japanese blades for it, or go to here and read up. reddit.com/r/wetshaving/wiki/blades
There are a few websites that allow you to buy just one or two blades in a sample pack. they are buried somewhere in the trusted vendor list in the wiki.
Get one razor to start until you are confident you know how to use the thing without cutting the shit out of yourself, you may think you know how to shave but they will learn you on that the first year. Once you have the hang of it, explore other options like different soaps, lathers, brushes, and new razor heads.

who are those adorable little boys?

King of Shaves.

thanks bros. Picked out my blade, going with this guy:
amazon.com/gp/product/B002A8JO48/ref=ox_sc_act_image_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Already have blades. Now I just need the lather shit and I'm good. So I can't use barbasol? I need to use special shit if I'm using a safety razor?

Get one of these
Also, am I allowed in the ethnostate?

Attached: image.jpg (3264x2448, 805K)

Barbasol is good but a soap is cheaper, you can shave in the shower if you want too.

Amazon shave soap and a brush. Nice little stands holds the brush and razor.

I like the scented soaps like peppermint etc.

Dude for real do not move it sideways at all. With grain is best. Can do against with practice. But do not let the blade slide sideways at all. Trust me.

I just switched to a safety razor. I thought they were just a meme but it turned out pretty good. And you save a lot on razors over the long term.

Oh and put the used razors in the back of the pack there is a little slot for them. They are dangerous laying around or in trash bags.

Go on man. What blades have you tried? What razor did you go with? What do you use for lather? Any aftershave?

That’s what this is. The blades are cheap as shit, and you get a closer shave.

Don't fall for their control tactics. They will use them to destroy every one of our allies thereby reducing our movement to the bickering shitshow infecting the left.

Really, Gillette doesn't matter that much and this is a slide thread. Sage and post redpills.

i shave daily for work, and love my Harry's blades, they last long and no special tricks, i throw it away wet and get 6-8months easily.
i bought them for my family and friends and father and have learned some people do not like them... give them a try, its a cheap investment. if you try another and like it more SWITCH. don't trust peoples opinion, my father taught ,e to trust the church and look how fucking wrong he was about that!

>t. makes less than 20k a year
>t. looks like a literal hells angel and makes 6 figures
your girl loves it too you baby faced dipshit lookin square

I like my Harry's razor. I'm still on my first one (only use it to shave my balls and neckline) which i got a year ago.

Using a #1 crop for your face, neck, and head is the way to go.

Not cool bro, why is this allowed? You better watch it man. I won't report your post or suggest to the mods they ban you but we're all on the same side here man, start acting like a gentlemen, please. Thank you. Also, fuck niggers.

find one of these

Just get a straight razor, a strop and the compounds for said strop

That shit will last forever with not much outlay

I use my various pocket knives because I'm a sharpening geek; a straight razor is good for a noob because the hollow grinds they use give you the right stropping angle. You lay the spine on the strop + compound, and run backwards once it's not as sharp as you desire

What do you use? I have always used phillips norelco. I currently have the series 7000. It works great when you buy new heads, but only seems to provide a close clean shave for maybe 3 weeks, then it's just "ok". I have always used electric.

I bought a $200 german-made electric shaver. It's like a whisker blitzkrieg every single morning, and it's kosher compliant. 9/10 would buy again.

Safety razors are best razors

I use a safety razor and I just use my body wash you don’t need shaving cream, that’s a meme to make you spend more, I shave my head and face at least once a day, twice when it grows to fast, I’m a fireman and silky smooth skin helps me slip my hood and mask on faster with a better seal, I know shaving well, the biggest thing is you gotta learn it, you will cut the hell out of yourself at first don’t give up just adjust technique and stop moving sideways

I just use bic platinum razors and van der hagen soap, because my brother gave me those. Never used any others, but those have been fine for me

Buy a Merkur safety razor and a few blades. The blades are usually less than 10 cents each. I've spent a total of $40 on blades over the past 10 years.

You'll shred your face the first few times. Watch mantic something or other on youtube for tips on how to get started. Classy as fuck. You'll never go back to Gillette bullshit

>we're all on the same side here man
no, we're really not.
you get ate butthole first, bet

>you don’t need shaving cream
this is making me cringe, I'm pretty sure this helps avoid any ticks or cuts when you're rubbing a sharp blade against your face.

Maybe your dad has extremely coarse facial hair but Harry's has been consistently excellent in my experience. Not talking shit about your old man, I'm sure he's a good dude, but it's a low risk gamble and I think you might be surprised.

>Buy a Merkur safety razor and a few blades.
I will, SOON. Is there anything else I need? What about soaps? Can I just use the barbasol shit I already have? What is this shit I'm seeing with like a brush and a tiny bowl? Is this shit required?

No really it doesn’t work any better than a good body wash, as I said I shave at least once a day sometimes more

I'm tellin ya, look on ebay for a rolls razor theyz the shit
youtube.com/watch?v=Y89rbUqe6P0

get a safety razor. The brand doesnt matter. Switch between blade brands till you find one that you like. They are $0.30 each so use as you see fit. I like Viking brand blades/SR

>I shave at least once a day sometimes more
How do you have time for that? You must really like shaving.

What are you some kind of a fuckin queer?

clean that dirty ass mirror.

Harry's is a good brand, I've been using them since they came out. The blades last a long time and they are made from German steel.

If you're against buying disposable razors, look into a cutt-throat razor kit.

this
nothing beats a proper shave, and just like a gentlemen would never be caught dead in clip on suspenders, one should never shave with cheap plastic garbage. you see its not that the cheap stuff doesnt work, it does. its not about utility, its about function following form. if you care enough to do something, then you ought to care enough to do it with style, and grace. for a white man, a civilized man, a man of wealth and taste, its not enough that he shaves, but its also how he shaves, and what he shaves with. An act is not defined by the utility of the action, but rather by the method.

Show that you care enough about what you do, to do it well. Its the defining quality of a gentleman. Clip on suspenders work, but they have no style, they have no grace ... they are the 'orc" of suspenders. Same thing is true of the plastic razor.

You seem to know what you're talking about, I respect that. What soap should I buy? It's the only thing I'm unsure of at this point. Also, do I need a brush? Tell me what you use please, I'm sure it'll do the trick. Help a fellow white man out fren.

Loose fitting blue jeans and a plain black shirt is what white women wear, where you're from? That must suck.

use barbasol its made in usa and lasts forever

Proraso is the shit, feather blades if you can. Brushes can be tough, I bought a really nice brush and it fell apart, bought a mid tier one and it has been fantastic. Merkur Futura I love as it is adjustable.

I've been using a safety razor for years and I really like Astra and Personna blades.
If your looking for quality brushes at good prices check out Semogue, they are oldschool family made brushes from Portugal, beautiful, great quality and huge variety with different kinds of hairs and sizes/ hardness.

Another vote for DER. Find a razor that feels comfy in your hand, try different blades. Use a boar bristle brush and try Proraso soap.

buy a safety razor and a box of derby premium blades

try this place

Scotlands oldest shaving shop
or this one

If that stuff is too pricey, then get some simple stuff from merkur (all made in germany), doesnt need to be fancy, get a full kit from merkur for 100$, including 100 blades. Enough for a few months. Blades are cheap after that. Just experiment with soaps and brushes. You can spend 100$ on a good brush, but it will last for years, if not a lifetime. Its pretty simple really user, is it made in Europe or USA, probably high quality, buy it. Is it made in Asia, probably crap, dont buy it. Personally, I just use a merkur6, its pretty common.

this is almost the exact set that i own, wife bought it for me, before that i used one my dad bought for me on 16th birthday, which was quite similiar

lots of good stuff out there

I just placed my order m8. I didn't buy any soaps though, I figure I'll use my barbasol first and the price was already getting fairly high.

Thanks for all your suggestions though, I'm done using Gillette, was a customer since I started to shave nearly a decade ago, that ends today. Fuck jews, fuck niggers, fuck anyone who's ideal clash with that of ours.

What brand safety razor?

nice
you will enjoy it, and you will never go back to cheap made in china crap. whats even better? the blades are actaully cheaper then the plastic, so your worst financial pain is behind you, from now on, everytime you shave you will save! thats always the way with consumer junk. a little investment at the start, pays dividends down the road. plus fuck china,

Harry’s is garbage

wife is easiest thing bro. stay in shape. have a job. dont drink (at least dont be a drunk), dont smoke, and never do drugs. focus on your work, and building wealth. women want money. to build money, you must think:

******* residual income streams ************

this is the most important thing in life, from wealth flows power, from power flows wealth, it is a self perpuating loop
so what are residual income streams, well anything that earns you money while you do nothing
so ... copyrights, patents, machines, investments
write a book, write a poem, take photographs
i was lucky, i studied mechanical engineering, with machine design specialty, so patents are obviously my thing
otherwise work hard and invest, in stocks, bonds, bitcoins ... whatever you think is a good investment (i like silver, and bitcoins)

nowadays they are other residual income streams you could set up, make videos for youtube for instance
its basically anything you can do that makes money while you sleep! when you work for a living you get paid once, when you work for yourself, you get paid twice, when you create stuff, invent stuff, or invest in stuff, you get paid forever.

Lmao I thought that was a chick in the mirror at first

Dollar shave club? Haven’t tried them myself because I havent run out of Gillette yet.

>let the blade slide sideways
FTFY

oh and one other thing
stay inshape. w no woman wantsa fat guy, any more then you want soem fat roastie, fat people are gross. so work out. you dont have to be a roid monkey, jus stay in shape, lift a little, run 5 miles three times a week, take up boxing or something, once a week (i do boxing for two hours on monday nights and go jogging weds and fri), lift tues and thurs, weekends off
bottom line, stay in shape, chicks do not like fat guys, they dont like slobs, and neither should you. take care of your body, and hopefully your mind will follow

Merkur futur (or any other merkur model)
Feather blades
Proraso soap

see
I did pretty much what you just suggested, haha.

buy a $5-10 safety razor and $8 100 blades from amazon
done for a year+

And some tips too user. Shave after a hit shiwer or hold a hot washcloth to your face for a minute. If you can afford it apply a shaving oil before lathering up. Hold the razor at a 15° or so angle from perpendicular to your face. Stick your jaw out or use your tongue or finger to pull your skin taught. Short, not long passes. Don’t press the razor into your skin, let the weight of the razor do the work, be gentle. With the grain on the first pass, if you want to you can go against it afterwards for a closer shave. If you wish you can lather up again for this. You will cut yourself a few times, accept it and improve.

Once you start shaving with a safety razor you will never go back. Closer, way cheaper, less irritating.

anyone who pays over $15 for a safety razor is a fucking cuck

Thread got too long, so sorry if this was answered already, but are safety razors any good for eveyday shaving? As in military bootcamp or and the like?

All good advice and worthy of a screen cap.

Since you seem pretty experienced in this, maybe you can tell me. What percentage of my passive income should I invest in other things such as stocks?

What brand should I buy?

What exactly happens if you move sideways?

I need a better mental image of the type of cut

Second this... safety razor 100 + blades, and a block of alum... no more money spent for a year +

I have used those cheap cunts yellow Bic out of neccesity. If you are a stupid fuck like me you will have a straight clean cut on your face.

It's not hurtful or anything but it gets troublesome to shave later on.

Must of us into DE shaving use shaving soap, in a mug, whipped into a lather with a brush. Badger hair brushes are higher quality than boar's hair, but I personally use boar's hair because I'm not really self-indulgent when it comes to grooming. You can certainly continue to use shaving cream if you wish.

The DE razor technique is not hard to pick up. They're called "safety razors" for a legitimate reason. Don't get me wrong, you are absolutely going to nick yourself a couple times, that's just facts. But you're not gonna fuck around and flay yourself alive, if that's what you're worried about.

Attached: 1200px-Stihl_MS_170.jpg (1200x708, 208K)

Safety Razor with good blades. You also should use shaving soap. Lasts WAY longer than cream (I shave 3 times a week and its lasted me over a year). You will also need a shave brush

Oh my God, it is so economical. That's why I got into wet shaving, razor cartridges are like five fucking dollars apiece, meanwhile the last time I bought a bunch of Dorco blades in bulk, it worked out to something like 8 cents a blade. I used to have to reuse razor cartridges past their optimal lifespan, not any more, the moment I feel the slightest bit of drag out goes that blade, in goes another, and my shave is close and comfortable.

does anybody make these in wood? chrome is so cheap looking

DE Wetshave

artofmanliness.com/articles/how-to-shave-like-your-grandpa/

Valid question. The answer is 'yes, they totally make razor stands in wood'. Seems to be a largely artisan product, since DE shaving is so niche in the first place, but there do exists people who will ship you a wooden razor-and-brush stand in exchange for money.

Hell, if you had access to a bandsaw and some stain you could probably make your own. It's like, the easiest woodworking project I can conceive of, barring "napkin holder".

Never mind answering me fucking cucks. Just googled it.

Anyway, would love recomendations on disposable shavers... that are not Gillette because fuck feminism.
