Preparation for future happenings, dumbass.
Starving the beast without starving themselves
I moved into my new apartment too late for my hardiness zone to plant potatoes and tomatoes on the balcony, but I have a nice herb garden I draw from frequently
I read an article a few weeks ago about how a lot of farmers at co-ops and farmer's markets are nazis and I almost shed a tear of pride
can't wait to own land and grow my own shit year-round
I successfully eradicated my rat problem with a few of this style trap. Fence will be completed in the winter.
Tip - offset double-layered chicken wire is the only way to keep rats out. If they can fit their head through, their body can follow.
Gardening always seemed kind of cool, but I never got into it
grow your own luffas for bathing and cleaning dishes
Libs have been doing this for decades already. In fact, my neighborhood has several outparcels at the end of our streets that are "community garden" patches. You get a 4x4 plot as long a you agree to share a little what you produce.
My parents were always into it and I had no interest whatsoever. Then I found out about heirlooms and exotics and now I'm constantly growing something new. It's too much fun.
>a lot of farmers at co-ops and farmer's markets are nazis
You must live in Russia. It's not like that here, comrade.
Because they are slaves.
Eating plants is what slaves do, hence why the elite tell us to eat our grains and vegetables, and to cook our meat.
These are both kind of Florida-specific, but this is where I caught the gardening bug.
Green Deane hosts foraging classes, which show you how to find wild foods in your area. eattheweeds.com
I have taken several of his classes (and grabbed up plants and seeds that now live in my yard).
The Survival Gardener. I love this guy. He's a He's a Florida kid who has since left the U.S. and now lives somewhere in the tropics because the government kept fucking with him for having a plant nursery.
He is all about the calories. And the compost. thesurvivalgardener.com

one question
>9sf per pig?
that is 3' X 3'
is a 9'X9' pen big enough for 9 pigs?
and re you growing food to feed them?
not being a dick
just think it is incorrect
Mine, too. Fucking based commies. I hate those guys.
Dumbass
One who wants to fight against the system, must be self sufficient and not depend on the system
it's a really bad infographic. the assumption is that youd raise your pigs the same way factories do which would be counter productive to the concept of self sufficiency
think it's wallowing space per piglet?
Really depends on the kind of op you're running. Small scale, minimalist farming you can get away with small pens. Treat it as exponential adjustment of space per pig rather than linear. 1 pig needs 3x3, 2 would need 9x9 and so forth dependent on the space and resources available. Cram too many pigs in one area and they'll start attacking each other and spread sickness more rapidly.
>Why is the alt right gardening now?
It's plant-based fascism.
Bump, because gardening threads are comfy as fuck
True. Bump.
Welcome to the comfiest bread, brudder
Farming is comfy as fuck
Conqueror here, keep gardening.
I appreciate it for I will take it and the females when the time comes.
>muh guns
Surprise attacks will destroy you.
There is a guy on youtube red gardens or something is the channel. He has a compost pile and puts it in a kind of crate that blocks most ways in. He leave a kind of duct like the one that carries heat out of your dryer for the heat. He leaves it like that so all the rats run in then he covers the duct with a bag or something and scares the rats back out of the compost pile. Works good for killing rats since a compost pile will attract all the rats in a pretty big area.
If I did this right, here's a mega with some good how-to's. If I didn't do it right let me know.

Post yfw the Jews try to make personal food production illegal
This is awesome
Who is the “alt/right”?
>muh guns
>Surprise attacks will destroy you.
Nobody's going to live in a vacuum even during SHTF. There's going to be small minarchist states and protection racketeering as soon as humanly possible.
Not alt-right, more libertarian.
I bought a greenhouse, mattocked a few patches and bought probably $200 worth of various herbs, mints, peppers, fruits, vegetables and startches. I'm preparing to do a big garden with a tiller lent to me.
Why wouldn't we? It's good work. Shit, I even help out with the local commies community garden and a few different local ethnic community halls(Dutch, Polish and French(don't hate me because I'm actually white)). Fresh and healthy plants fill out any meal, help you get all that good shit out of meat, and help you push out the waste from all the meat. Trump fucked up by screwing the farmers; but they are just finding other crops to grow and teaching classes while the politicians are being gay.
I want to know if people will think I’m gay for farming tho cause like the men I know all eat macdonalds and use tinder
>a few different local ethnic community halls(Dutch, Polish and French(don't hate me because I'm actually white))
Completely forgot that white group identity still exists and white diaspora groups still hang out with each other a lot. Actually, it was all in front of me all along but I never noticed. Growing up I noticed "whites" with similar phenotypes hung out together but didn't know anything about ethnography, history or geography.
The current trade stuff isn't as big of a deal as it seems, especially with China's swine fever epidemic boosting domestic demand for crops to feed bigger local swineherds for export. Especially considering the consolidation of much of America's farms into conglomerates.
>caring what normies think
ngmi
It's just a carry-over from the last thread title that was actual bait. That OP didn't realize that the right in general actually gardens and is interested in gardening in a serious way.
BASED
This guys garden and approach is nice
Thanks user, even includes square foot gardening which got me started ~10 years ago. cheers
>WE WUZ GATHERERS N SHEEIT
Those are some good looking peppers, but I'm mystified about why you would try to grow corn in those pots behind the peppers.
/thread
got peppers (super hot and bell)
parsley
pineapples
onions
radishes
catnip
and hallucinogenic morning glorys in my gardens
Looks better than my corn. Shit burns up in early august almost every year. Or the deer fuck me over.
That's my experience too. I can get a ear of corn for $0.25, a pot that size would be better for something more exotic and less temperamental for small growers.
Trees in the backyard so I wanted to move it around with the sun
Didn't end up with anything edible but I was able to save three ears worth of kernels to plant next year and learned that it doesn't work I guess lol
I think my best results in the ground were about what you got in the pots.
Protip: just go for vegetables and herbs. Grain is serious fucking business.
Possible exception being if you try for Popcorn, because I hear that's not as hard to grow.
Tomatoes did the best I had these and Roma's and they were putting off so many that I was feeding them to the ants lol
Got a space cleared for irrigated raised beds next year, the soil here is so terrible that I don't think it's worth trying to amend
I hear varieties of Tomato like Cherokee Purple tend to be both aggressive and taste great
I got a lot of positive feedback from coworkers and aqcuaintances on social media
I think people would judge you more for being insecure
They look interesting
I've been looking into Baker Creek and their heirlooms but some of their stuff is intimidating
Not much of a demand around here but I know a couple chefs and a farmers market that I would love to sell to
These were pimento peppers, put some in spaghetti sauce and it was good
If you feel up to canning, varieties like San Marzano are heirlooms that are basically the basis of all modern tomato pastes and sauces.
But those purple heirlooms are really nice fresh.
you can make your own soap from wood ash and animal fat to go with them luffas
Can confirm, i tried this tactic as well for the same reason and my corn didn't produce shit. Next year i will just have to try and find a spot that gets at least 5 hours of sun and just stick them in the ground. Or maybe fall a tree or 2.
*starves to death, nothing personal kid*
