On March 1, 1990, the offices of Steve Jackson Games, in Austin, Texas, were raided by the U.S. Secret Service as part of a nationwide investigation of data piracy. The initial news stories simply reported that the Secret Service had raided a suspected ring of hackers. Gradually, the true story emerged.
The raid on Steve Jackson Games, which led to the court case Steve Jackson Games, Inc. v. United States Secret Service, is often attributed to Operation Sundevil. Operation Sundevil was a 1990 nationwide United States Secret Service crackdown on "illegal computer hacking activities." It involved raids in approximately fifteen different cities and resulted in three arrests and the confiscation of computers, the contents of electronic bulletin board systems (BBSes), and floppy disks. It was revealed in a press release on May 9, 1990. The arrests and subsequent court cases resulted in the creation of the Electronic Frontier Foundation. The operation is now seen as largely a public-relations stunt. Operation Sundevil has also been viewed as one of the preliminary attacks on the Legion of Doom and similar hacking groups. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Sundevil

The Phoenix Project was the name given to the project to repair the damage to the Pentagon caused when American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the building during the September 11, 2001 attacks. The project's goal was to reoccupy the outermost ring of the rebuilt section by September 11, 2002. This goal was bettered by nearly a month, with tenants moving back in on August 15, 2002.

Anime and porn and games are riddled with cryptology and steganography. All of that was likely for his job as a spy. I couldn't imagine him seeing much of it as more than filth. And I say that as someone who enjoys it.

88 represents... The continuum of nature and time, infinity, and... The orbits of Sol and Sirius in relation to one another.
So then, did 14/88 have a nom-obvious esoteric meaning? Those are two auspicious numbers, after all.
