d.tube is alright if you have your own IPFS node or pay for an IPFS service, otherwise it's barely usable for about a week then the videos are gone. 3speak.online is a brand new service that's supposed to be for free speech videos, but it's essentially still in beta at this point.
I think it's the same problem with bitchute.
They store all videos (very compressed) on their servers and distribute them to some users, if no one views the video within a year or so it just gets deleted..

The main problem is people are used to youtube, which Alphabet seems to operate at a loss. Hosting and bandwidth costs of video streaming platforms are extremely cost prohibitive, and a giant offering something for free means that competition really can't compete. 3speak actually charges a monthly fee to be allowed to upload, but they don't delete the videos once you stop paying. I don't know if they'll be competitive with a free service, but I bet there may be enough free speech advocates tired of youtube to fill the niche, plus they're adding more and more monetization options as they go, so it seems like it may work out.
