Weekly reminder that all Christians must abstain from meats today as a penitence given that the Lord was killed on a Friday. This is not a dietary restriction based in the Old Law, but a fasting and a penitence, practiced both in New Testament times. We are allowed only fish and sea food.
Fish is allowed because it's cold-blooded and its reproduction is different from ours. If you have already eaten meat today, try to keep it in mind for next week.
Some Catholics think this is only required on Holy Friday or during Lent, but that is incorrect, as seen in Canon Law:

2 Timothy 3:16-17 NASB — All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.
Abstaining from sin is a good work. If eating meat on Friday were sinful, you could prove it from the Bible.
