I know at least 5 to 6 gay couples with adopted kids. I can assure you that they are the best parents I have ever seen and their children are all doing really well. A few things to remember. They have to really want it, jump through hoops, be able to handle the biased opinions of the peoples in charge of adoption, and take some of the more difficult, older children whose parents were drug addicts. For each of the couples they have taken in numerous children and three of them fought to keep siblings together. Only one couple, in my opinion, are not exemplary, they are just average parents, which isn’t bad. That couple, jump back, is the only couple that are lesbians. The gay males are absolutely loving, supportive, passionate, fathers of sons and daughters. I do chuckle at times at some social media posts of this one couple and their two sons. The boys are headed to High School and both are way more manly than their parents. One is clearly a jock and it’s sort of humorous to see photos of them at family outings. The jocks face at musicals is always so funny. He loves his fathers, but you can tell he is just going for them. Then the reverse is funny when they take photos at baseball games. His fathers are so out of place but totally into it. It’s actually endearing to see them, especially one of the fathers. He is very effeminate and flamboyant. It’s seriously the birdcage. He loves his boys and is a PTA super mom. I love the photos of the team parents for the little league. You can tell how well they do as parents because the manliest of male parents of other sons are all smiles and hugs with them. If those guys can accept them, you know it’s a good thing.

I told you, the kids coming to the homes are the less desirable, troubled kids. So those kids have problems not the result of the parenting. The birth parents caused it. They also play mind games, want visitation, then don’t show, or come high. No amount of parenting is going to erase the trauma, but the parents I know who are gay are all conservatives except for the lesbians. They do exist.
