Since this is Jow Forums, what is your stance on pet ownership, domestic & exotic? Implications on society? Are Dogs - Man's Best Friend?
This is my Doggo. I rescued her as a pup, not even a year old.. She was the only one in the litter with her color, the rest were an orangish brown. She was the runt, and her and all her siblings lived in the backyard of a tweaker, living off of scraps and bread from people... she was skin and bones. Her siblings wouldnt allow her to eat, nor would her parents.. her mom even showed hostility toward her... these junkyard dogs truly had this beautiful soul imprisoned. I rescued her.. she was skin and bones..sick, too. I nursed her back to health and got her bigger than all her siblings.. I ended up moving, but i bet most of her siblings are dead...
I am sure she has the Soul of a very good Human or Animal of the past. She is just.. The best Dog I've ever had the pleasure of having.. And she is my best friend.
I have others, too. One I rescued from some fatass Mexican mojado (wetback) who would beat, and leave roped in the sun without shade (at 110 to 120 degrees farenheit outside) without food, or fucking water.. ended up sneaking it water all the time and finally i told the dude to give me the dog. He did.
The littlest one, poor guy, he was left outside a laundromat... he stood in front of it for hours, and hours... probably all day.. until i stumbled on him. Hes a good lil doggo. They all are..
No quarrels. They all share. Not one is the Alpha of the other.. All support roles. It's quite strange. I think because the girl (big one) acts as a mother, or parental figure..

Good job user, you’ve served these dogs well and thanks for saving the beaner pup, shitskins have a hard time being moral to mans best friend. Sorta unrelated but I lost my cat this morning (cuck animal yeah whatever) and feels bad. She was only 3, a runt abandoned by her mum in our backyard, sweetest little thing but had spinal deformities that troubled her mobility and eventually her digestive tract. Sadly she went in to the vet last night and she never woke up from the anaesthetic, going in soon to grab her body and pay for the pleasure of them killing her. Cherish your animals folks, you’ll never know when you might lose them, or never have the chance to say goodbye. (Photo from a year and a bit ago)
I owned a pet tortoise when I was young. Mistreated it and my family didn’t care. We let him go. I miss him, I wish he would show up back at my house and I’d take him in with a brand new fancy cage and feed him and play with him lots more
Birds are probably the worst “pets” I alway feel bad seeing an animal that’s meant to be flying locked up in a cage. Epitome of “decoration” pets, teach them to whistle some cool tune or say words and then get them to repeat their gimmick till the grave.

Pets are part of the family. I have a ridiculous, useless dumb dog that put his back out and currently has be be carried up stairs, but I’d be gutted to lose him.

My Grandparents saved a few birds, they all live together. A mockingjay, a robin, and a small all yellow bird.. They have a cage, but also a dedicated literal bedroom where they fly around and enjoy a MUCH longer lifespan than the wild counterparts.. and by the way, EVERY time i come in the room, or someone they know, they fly literally inches from you, land inches from you, sing beautiful tunes, and are just generally curious and feisty little things

I fucking love dogs.. Shame I hate most humans more so than that love.. thesr things give us so much love and loyalty, and the genetic trash of society abuses them..
I like mice. They are ideal non-labor non-security pets. The cleaning is minimal, they are omnivores like us, and as long as they're not wild born rodents tend to be rather clean. Unlike cats they also don't carry a brain parasite.

indeed, I despise people who dump their pets after they are no longer cute, or need extra attention to take care of them. NPC’s that deserve to be shot. Thanks, I’ll miss her a lot. Dogs are definitely mans best friend and you’ll be able to bond with nearly any dog, not all cats are the same but the ones who you can bond with are something special. I’ve still got my other two cats, rescued since birth and are both 13/14 respectively, extremely affectionate and likeable. Not like any other cats I’ve had. I can understand why some people dislike cats, but the right cat will change their mind I’m certain. That’s actually great, unfortunately most people have birds as caged pets and that’s it. I should have specified that the general way they are kept is for decoration and the exception is like a true pet. Your grandparents did good.

I always thought birds would be a great pet and fun to have around; however, feek pretty strongly that they basically need to have a big space if not essentially be allowed to be fly free all the time and I couldn't do that in my little place. Still seems like they'd be based. Cockatoos look like they get hella personalities after awhile.

Also I agree about what you said about cats. I had a cat.. Oh boy. I was 6. I had a fountain outside, and this wild cat would come to drink... But only when i came outside to play. My dad took notice, and so we started feeding it.. she came every day after that - but... she soon became inseperable. She always followed me, and we adopted her. She literally followed me everywhere. And she was fiercely loyal, shed fuck the shit out of adults that got near me, or she would go and run and attack big ass dogs while people were walking them, i always laughed and said she was like a dog, because funny enough all you had to do was whistle once or do a sound like you would for a dog and she'd come
She ended up getting ripped apart by "coyotes", on the day of my 5th grade graduation. I think it was the Armenian neighbor nextdoor honestly. But.. it was fucked. I saw her body. /:
He’s an excellent watch dog. But never barks unless someone comes to the door. He’s a boxer pug mix and very affectionate. Can also tell when someone is hurting and moves to comfort them but at the same time total alpha at the dog park

Wish the Doggo had a better living environment.. But it is a sweet thing when two completely different species, one superior to the other ecologically and biologically, shows mercy and even affection..

Dogs have had a connection with man dating back to the beginnings of civilization. It is an innate bond that stretches back millennia. When you get a dog that is smart enough like your own, you can see the loyalty and respect a dog has for you if you treat it well. My dog would have died for me, and quite honestly I would've done the same for her. She passed away last year, it was rough. But I'm grateful for the time I had with her.
I'm busy with work for the next couple years, but afterwards I'd like to settle down, and buy 1-3 big dogs to defend the wife and kids. A german shepherd, malinois, something like that.
