I have this theory that in ww2 and the cold war era, aliens made contact because we started using nukes.
They told us we have to become united and race mix to accomplish world peace.

The fact the theory would be that aliens wanted the world government would further imrpove they likely had a way of making it work, since it most likely have worked in their societies, and most likely they then have experience to share how to achieve it.
Other than that, there is really no argument towards our world leaders wanting to try it to create world peace even if it later fails, it does not mean it won't work until it fails.
