>US envoy meets Israel’s embattled PM to discuss Mideast peace plan The US envoy to the Middle East, Jason Greenblatt, met on Friday with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu – days after elections that left the Israeli leader’s political future in doubt, AP reports.
Netanyahu suffered an apparent setback when he and his allies failed to secure enough seats for a narrow, right-wing majority coalition.
Greenblatt is the architect of the Trump administration’s long-awaited Middle East peace plan, which has raised widespread skepticism. The project has already been dismissed by the Palestinians.
Earlier this month, Greenblatt announced that he would be leaving the administration in the coming weeks.

>Kuwait raises security alert level at oil and commercial ports – report Kuwait has raised the security alert level at all of its ports, including the oil terminals, the state-run KUNA news agency reported on Friday, citing Trade and Industry Minister Khaled Al-Roudhan.
“The decision emphasizes that all measures have to be taken to protect the vessels and the ports’ facilities,” it said.
The announcement comes after two important oil production facilities in neighboring Saudi Arabia were hit by drones and missiles on September 14, curtailing the crude output of the world’s top oil exporter, Reuters said.
Yemen’s Houthi group claimed the attacks but a US official said they originated from southwestern Iran. Tehran, which supports the Houthis, denied any involvement in the attacks.
>Trump hits Iranian bank with ‘highest’ sanctions ever imposed on a country
US President Donald Trump told reporters on Friday that he has ordered sanctions on Iran’s national bank following the attacks on Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities. The announcement was made in the Oval Office, where he and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison were scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting.
Trump did not immediately elaborate on the sanctions but noted that they were the highest sanctions ever imposed on a country. The sanctions go “right to the top,” he said.
US Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin said the latest sanctions action against Tehran was ‘very big’ and that it affected the last source of funds for Iran.
The action comes after Washington accused Iran for the weekend attacks on Saudi oil refineries, a charge Tehran has vehemently denied. Trump said on Wednesday that he has ordered the Treasury Department to “substantially increase” sanctions on the country.
First of all, they would have to place the s-300 system in the DeZ region. It would probably have quite good performance there due to topography.

>Twitter purges hundreds of accounts from Egypt & UAE for ‘pro-Saudi messaging’ that targeted IRAN & QATAR
Twitter has permanently banned nearly three hundred accounts based in Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, citing “platform manipulation” which boosted support for the Saudi government and “targeted” countries like Iran and Qatar. The latest purge was announced in a blog post on Friday, stating the company had removed a “network of 273 accounts” for coordinated and suspicious activity.
“These accounts were interconnected in their goals and tactics: a multi-faceted information operation primarily targeting Qatar, and other countries such as Iran,” the blog post said, adding “It also amplified messaging supportive of the Saudi government.”
The company said it found evidence that a software firm based in Abu Dhabi, DotDev, managed the operation, and that it had banned all accounts associated with the tech firm.
Twitter additionally suspended a separate group of over 4,200 accounts that, it said, operated “uniquely from the UAE” and employed “false personae” to tweet about “regional issues,” such as the war in Yemen, or the country’s Houthi movement.
Six Saudi accounts linked to the country’s state media were also dumped, along with that of a former aide to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saud al-Qahtani, infamous for his alleged central role in the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi last October, for which he was sanctioned by the United States. Twitter said it would “continue to suspend a range of accounts for other types of political spam violations in Saudi Arabia.”
They can target the Syrian/Lebanese/Israeli border area quite a lot more comfortably than DeZ for example. The topography around Damascus / Lebanese border are is quite forgiving in the regard of aerial surprise attack operations.

They can do it easily, but they have an interest in the IRGC installations around the Euphrates. Probably related to Israeli Tanf/DeZ MMC connections
Even al Asad is for watching Iranians. All eyes on the border crossing.

Is it true that Britain carved out and created Kuwait coz that's where the oil was?
Camden Wood
In the 1890s, Kuwait was threatened by the Ottoman Empire. In a bid to address its security issues, the then ruler, Sheikh Mubarak Al Sabah signed an agreement with the British government in India, subsequently known as the Anglo-Kuwaiti Agreement of 1899 and became a British protectorate. This gave Britain exclusivity of access and trade with Kuwait, and excluded Iraq to the north from a port on the Persian Gulf. The Sheikhdom of Kuwait remained a British protectorate from 1899 (until 1961)
Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman on Friday cautioned Tehran’s allies that the Iranian regime views its supporters only as tools.
“The people of Yemen and Arabs, with all their components, should be aware that the Tehran’s regime sees its supporters only as tools to achieve its ambitions.”
Iran’s aim is not to protect them, or to protect their countries and peoples, Prince Khalid tweeted.
“The Iranian regime claims that it is protecting the vulnerable, and we see it today in a very cowardly way shielding itself with those vulnerable to protect its existence and safety,” said Prince Khalid in another tweet.
Prince Khalid added that people and countries should face challenges themselves and not blame others “especially those who are lesser than them in terms of size and strength.”

What do those people even want? Ikwan regime? Muslim Brotherhood regime? They don't honestly believe in "western democracy", I mean just look at it, UK refuses to execute a obliging referendum for several years, what democracy is there in the west?

We'd all be sunnis since Ali wasn't a flagellating piece of shit like the descendants of the "people" who abandoned him and every one of his idolized descendants whenever they rebelled against the Ummayyads.

"One strike destroyed half of the Saudi oil production, the second strike will destroy everything," warned Nasrallah.

The "Golden Square" included the four most important leaders of the "Circle of Seven." The Circle of Seven was a group of Sunni Arab nationalist military officers who were greatly influenced by German Ambassador Fritz Grobba and, in turn, greatly influenced politics in Iraq during the 1930s and early 1940s.
The members of the Golden Square were Colonel Salah al-Din al-Sabbagh, Colonel Kamil Shabib, Colonel Fahmi Said, and Colonel Mahmud Salman. During the Anglo-Iraqi War, the four members of the Golden Square commanded units located in the Baghdad area. Salah ad-Din al-Sabbagh was commander of the Iraqi 3rd Infantry Division. Kamal Shabib commanded the 1st Infantry Division. Fahmi Said commanded the Independent Mechanized Brigade. Mahmud Salman, the one non-Army officer, was the Chief of the Air Force.
The members of the Golden Square were virulently anti-British. In time, these men represented real power as successive Iraqi governments sought the support of the military for survival. The members of the Golden Square looked to Germany to support them and, for his part, Grobba enthusiastically encouraged them to do so.
On 1 April 1941, Rashid Ali and the Golden Square launched a coup d'etat to topple the government of the Regent, Prince 'Abd al-Ilah. The subsequent Anglo-Iraqi War ended disastrously for Rashid Ali and the members of the Golden Square who, for the most part, fled Iraq as the British closed in on Baghdad.
