Read Romans 1 and 2 now, which explain that without the law, there is no faith to be saved. Jesus didn't spend his time preaching the law just so people could ignore it all. Paul was trying, desperately, to explain that the law itself is not salvation, but points us to salvation. If you're not following the law, then you're not following Christ.
