Modern music just depresses me. It’s also dumbed down to the lowest degree. Sometimes I can enjoy modernity, but when it comes to music, there is almost nothing I would care to remember.
Classical music, much like classic literature, was more creative. It wasn’t afraid to have pieces of music spanning 10, 20, 30 minutes. Compared to our 2-3 minute EDM music or Cardi B bragging about shooting black people, I’d say we’ve definitely regressed.
My problem with this is that Tchaikovsky certainly deserves a place amongst the greats. I wouldn’t remove any of them, I’d just add him as well. Swan Lake, Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Piano Con no. 1, Romeo and Juliet, and the 1812 overture.
Isaiah Phillips
What do you listen to, Jow Forums? Everything from Bach to Wagner. I waiting when leftist will come for classical music. Magical flute is literally racism, TALENT is white supremacism etc.
Kevin Garcia
He's very good. But I would say not top Tier. I chose these 4 cause of their impact on history of music. Tchaikovsky did not have the same impact. But he's still great. Would say one tier-stage beneath.
Blake James
He can’t really have an influence if he’s at the tale end of classical music.
Leo James
i dont agree and go fuck yourself mountainkike
Nicholas Evans
Then what’s your list and what’s wrong with his?
Austin Smith
It's more difficult that's true. But there were still composers who tried a new style. But they failed (like Schönberg) Bad luck for ya. Reddit is your place to be. Good bye...
Lucas Ward
they are great (except Wagner imo) but as you said earlier there should be Tchaikovsky.
The thing I like about classical music is that you can actually play it yourself. I learned piano to play Bach and Chopin. They wrote keyboard music for people to play, not just passively listen to, like all modern music.
Jaxon Bell
For me Chopin is in the top 4. He wrote the best melodies
Wagner's influence is huge: Found the new style of the "Gesamtkunstwerk" where music and text have a dialectic relation (Leitmotif-technique). Orchestra-reformer, amazing skills in colouration (Lohengrin ouverture) and complex composition (Mastersingers of Nürnberg). Extended the harmonic possibilites to it0s limit (Tristan, an opera built up on one single chord) His libretti (mostly Mastersingers and Tristan) are masterpieces on it's own when you compare them to librettis from Italian composers which not even wrote them on themselves. He influenced so mayn composers after him like Mahler, Puccini and Strauss.
Kevin Campbell
As much as I love Schubert, all of his piano pieces are too long by half. Too bad he died so young. Imagine if he lived to 65 like Bach
Wyatt Scott
Wagner was a genius for Der Ring and all of his music that embraced Germanic lore and Romantic/Hellenic mythology.
I only know him for his nocturnes. Seems like a great pianist.
Jordan Baker
No, but these 4 are gods I love Chopin. He's almost top Tier. Amazing skills in harmonic composition. But mostly for Piano. Schubert is great too. Would say next Tier Stage. That's a very hard selection I made
Mason Martinez
None of that really matters if the actual music isn’t great. Some Wagner pieces sound very good. But to place him alongside Beethoven and Bach is almost comical, I don’t think anyone would seriously rank Wagner with those two. Bach didn’t need a bunch of gimmicks for his music to work. Besides, the actual storyline of the ring cycle is mediocre.
Pop and rap are fucking garbage, yet here in Latin America we have stuff that's even worse, reggaeton and cumbia, look it up, it's straight up degenerate filth. Classical music is really good, but I personally enjoy symphonic British rock more. My favorite bands are Yes (in their good times, they later dropped in quality hard), King Crimson, Emerson, Lake and Palmer and Jethro Tull. Brand X also made some amazing jazz.
Dylan White
I don’t like his nocturnes. His best piece is Ballade #1
Logan Wright
Forgot Prokofiev faggot.
Brayden Morgan
I would. I rank Bach and Wagner on the same, highest level, and they are the only ones.
Bach is my daily bread. But I'm fond of many other composers, especially Prokofiev, ... all the great ones have good pieces. I don't like Mozart but he still wrote some stuff I like.
Jose Bennett
Classical music is a pompous and gay hobby that is used by contrarians to signal just how contrary they are.
>my tastes are so refined that i cant stand this modern garbage >i know more than everyone else about what sounds good and only my opinion is valid >my taste in music is the only valid one because im so contrary and special >tips fedora >have you listened to beethoven mlady
I think its time for a >classical gas
Ian Wright
Based as fuck on these composers. I would consider adding Shostakovich to round out the 20th century. His symphonies about Stalin are fucking legendary and you feel the fear he lived in.
>None of that really matters if the actual music isn’t great His music is overwhelming. Even people who didn't like Wagner admitted that he was a genius (Strawinsky) >actual storyline of the ring cycle is mediocre The ring is not his best work, that's true. Better go for Tannhäuser, Tristan and Meistersinger. Lohengrin is amazing just in musical terms. Shows all of Wagners skills in a nutshell.
David Smith
Yes, classic literature. If you want to understand and therefore control women, read 19th century European literature
Aaron Myers
Wagner is a pale shadow of Beethoven. Notice what he doesn’t have in common with the other three: he was not a pianist. Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart were pianists first and foremost.
Michael Jackson
Classical music is good, you should try listening some time without hate in your heart. There's something for everyone.
Isaiah Hughes
youtube.com/watch?v=GqHFxCURWH8 You sure about that? I'm talking about actual real jazz, not the pretentious garbage that a nigger playing a trumpet does.
John Perez
I don’t have hate in my heart for the music. Just for the wretched hipsters that obsess about it.
Sebastian Lee
Bach, Beethoven and Mozart wrote for Violins Prokofiev is ok-ish. but nothing to mention on top tier stage Agree with Shostakovich, really great composer. It's just a hard selection. Would say next stage you find shostakovich for sure.
>Is there anything more red pilled than classic music? Yes, baroque music.
Juan Collins
no joke Japan is where its at with modern cultural greatness. Their music, vidya, anime made me respect them so much and I was not inclined to be a weeb. I just found their entertainment culture to be objectively better than the jewified west. Japs mix orchestral music with synthesizers and its cool
Nicholas Ross
>Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans
I really hate using Wikipedia as a source but the fact is jazz is originally a nigger style
Bullshit. Beethoven was the greatest classical composer, but has nothing on Wagner. There is not a single composer that ever beat Wagner at the romantic Orchestra, you can't even compare it. As you said, Beethoven and Mozart were primarily Pianists while Wagner was an Orchestrist, nobody mastered the "complete" like him. Bach is the father of classical music, so he is not really fair to include in comparisons.
Easton Jones
The reason we are getting open borders and socialism in the west is because we have lost control of our women. They need Strong men to tell them what to do.
Why not use a russian music schoolbook? Russia was pretty good at keeping classical music alive on a high level during the 20th century, I am sure you got some good education stuff there.
Nicholas Smith
I feel you user. Wagner is a beast. But Mozart and Beethoven were gods too. Mozart: Some of the greatest operas ever written (Nozze, Don Giovanni, magic flute), also great piano concertos and some great sonatas. And don't forget his requiem. Beethoven: the symphony god and the sonata god (all 32 sonatas are just top quality, some of them just genius)
Modern music is a dehumanized, awful garbage made in a mind of sick Nigger. Like those punks on my block.i fucking hate when people play this abomination,it shows how much they sunk. It's like a sickness that attacking Our minds and brains.Like a cancer that growing stronger every day. The idea between this sick crap is degradation of everything Beautiful and Good. To hell with that!
Wagner’s music takes too long to get to the point, and when it does, it’s not very impressive. Think of the Tannhauser overture: repeated descending violin arpeggios ad nauseum. Yawn. It’s lacking depth or counterpoint or something
Jordan Taylor
Sure, no disrespect, for Beethoven at all, I am not too fond of Mozart though. Thing is, in Orchestra work they had not the options that the romanic composers had, Wagner, but Bruckner too. The Orchestra was just larger then, and that gives you options of deeper complexity that the eras before did not have. Also, from a dramatic perspective in the operas, the Leitmotiv technique just gives a much deeper emotional depth to the work. Every character, item or concept has one, and they meld to make a new theme sometimes. It just lets you get deeper into the story and characters, even if they are very simple for the most part.
I love classical music. I listen to it everyday, but you're a fucking cringelord magnificent faggot you know that?
Gabriel Nelson
The jazz itself wasn't much degenerated, but the Negro music had evolved, changed. Now we have gangsta rap which is anti-white evil. And THAT'S why we should hate jazz. Cause it was a fundament of this musical abomination
Landon Richardson
Yeah it is, but im worried about missing some gold and classical european works. Mozart is a truly divine one: carefree like a god and deep at the same time without pretending. One of the most sincere composers for my taste.
Cooper Rivera
That’s honestly the worst taste in Bach. He was a keyboardist! His passion was keyboard music. His magnum opus was the Well-Tempered Clavier. youtu.be/Ebe9tiWimWs
Adrian Ward
Beautiful piece
Cameron Cox
>Satanic Warmaster
Benjamin Sanchez
Literally baby's first classical. What a child you are. No Scriabin? No Catoire? Just the 4 most over hyped composers in all of history?
David Ortiz
The very end of the Art of Fugue breaks my heart. It just cuts off, unfinished, because he died.
Dominic Davis
Also you have the best classical radio ever, mountain bro. Imagine: BBC clasical radio playing theme from Star Wars.
Christopher Rogers
shut up Justin.
Ian Brown
I took a classical music class in college and we listened to Corelli’s Winter Concerto (or Christmas concerto, I can’t remember). It was sublime
Adrian Gray
love these guys but there are a lot of composers and technicians i respect as much as the last three in that list, liszt and paganini come to mind, i'm also very partial to maurice ravel. bach is the big daddy of all classical theoretical knowledge and composition forever though.
>Tannhauser overture It's a pretty early work by Wagner. It just shows the two spheres (Venus, Elisabeth). The climax comes in the bacchanale after the ouverture (just in the Franch and Viennese edition of Tannhäuser). There's an amazing climax in this bacchanale. You ahve to listen to the whole operas, or you can't grasp Wagners genius. In my opinion Tristan and Meistersinger are absolute masterpieces. Counterpoint, harmonics, dramaturgy, libretto and coherence. Agree with everything. The dramatic and psychological depth Wagner reached with his leitmotif-style is unsurpassed.
Matthew Jenkins
Why'd you put up a picture of someone with a scat fetish.
I don’t see that as elitist. Classical music has poetry, uses a wide variety of instruments played by professionals, and builds upon complex song structures.
Compare this to the verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus formula for most of modern music and you can see the dilemma. In the same way that marriage and love are prerequisites for having a family, art and skill are necessary for creating true music. I’d argue that large portions of music from the 90s until now is void of any true soul.
Classical all the way to math metal. There is plenty out there if you're not too retarded to look
Aiden Anderson
Lel you just discover Mozart or something you fucking child
Joseph Ortiz
Math metal have no soul.
Elijah Morris
Boomers listen to shit like the beatles you nigger. They were the first generation to snub classical.
Cameron Hill
>Mozart is a truly divine one Checked That's top tier user. Scriabin is nice. But top tier? You have to make a hard selection > 4 most over hyped composers that's cringe Feel it user. Very sad how the flow just ends... >bach is the big daddy of all classical theoretical knowledge and composition forever though Agreed. There are of course many other very great composers, It's a tough selection.
Kevin Hill
i see youre a man of culture as well
Nolan Rivera
Get out of here, you degenerate scumbag!!
Cameron Collins
Tchaikovsky is babby's first composer. He's all pleasant melodies, there's no development in his music.
Eli Jackson
>Bach is the big daddy of all classical theoretical knowledge and composition forever though. Glad to see this thread agrees that father Bach is #1
