Anyone else in the UK remember going to one of those science centres back in primary school, with one of the workshops being forensics?
I remember they had us put our fingerprints on these cards (and fill in details) and do a mouth swab. Everything was done under the pretense of learning about criminal forensic investigations, but I distinctly remember we weren't allowed to take anything out of the room, so we basically handed over our DNA and fingerprints to the state/some nebulus organisation.
I thought it was just a dream from when I was a little kid but I guess it really did happen.

I haven't even been charged with a crime. They just made me go in and get fingerprinted for my security job and when I got arrested earlier this year they fingerprinted me and wasted a whole fucking day just because. I hadn't even gone to trial.

Mine wasn't an arrest, it was my brother and I, we had never been to church before but randomly my parents said we were going to go to a church (I had a broken arm at the time so I know I was 5) they took us to a big Catholic Church on like a Thursday night, they never even turned the lights on in the church, finger printed us, did cheek swab and taught us random BS about forensics. I remember thinking the whole thing was weird and I asked to take my finger prints home to show my parents and they wouldn't let me. Then I got put into a gifted and talented program at school and remember them doing speech therapy ( I spoke perfectly well and was confused on why it was necessary) and having me pronounce strange words, not English. I really liked the speech therapist she gave me Hershey's kisses but called them hugs instead. After a few weeks I never saw her again but I'd ask about her and was not told anything. Anyway the GATE program was really fuckin cool I was only in 1st grade but I was getting to dissect frogs, lamb brains/hearts and eyeballs. Went to a class on lasers and inertia in 2nd grade instead of doing menial garbage like my classmates I got to go to do cool stuff. Don't remember why I stopped the program or what happened but basically from 5th grade on failed everything life was hard.
