The last right wing group in Australia went completely underground in the mid 90s. It was called the league of rights their leader was called Eric butler. They probably had around 3 to 5 thousand members. They were a pretty secretive organisation. But it went underground a long time ago. I don't think you can really even join the original groups. They use to have a lot of ex army types and would conduct militia training camps. They were never involved in any criminal activity so they seemed to just be passed off as religious right wingers. I remember as a kid going to a political event with my parents and there was a massive crowd. I have heard from a lot of older people that said they were a very well funded organisation. I've also talked with people who were either involved or were associated with them who said they were stockpiling weapons. This was before the gun ban. But occasionally I hear their name brought up in regards to them knowing or having access to some pretty large weapons dumps in NSW qld and sa. I have heard that they were blamed by others gun owners for cleaning out the stock from gun shops in large numbers of the newly banned weapons. One rumor that I have heard from at least 4 people is that they somehow obtained a large portion of the army reserve rifles that were to be removed from the barracks in rural areas. Those weapons just disappeared. If I only heard it from one person id probably pass it of as rubbish but over the years I have heard it from quite a few people who really have no reason to have told me otherwise.
