Its all biology. As women age, it is more difficult for them to give birth. Not just counting them running out of eggs, but physically as well. Birth wreaks havoc on the Human body, and women who are like 35+ are in much more danger than women who are in their early 20s. Not only this, but the rate of nonviable pregnancies skyrockets as women age. Basically, women have no reason to seem attractive to us as they get older because biologically speaking they're useless.

Men are in no danger as they get older, in terms of child production. A dude who is 18 and a dude who is 60 can still ejaculate sperm. So even though a man who is his mid 40s can obviously look much older, his attractiveness is generally seen as the same (or sometimes greater) because he is just as viable biologically now as he was back then. The age of the father has much less to do with any sort of genetic mishaps than the age of the mother.

That is why you can look at a man who is 45 and a woman who is 45 and see that the man is more "attractive" because he can still give healthy children. Unless the woman looks young (Even MILFs who are attractive in their 40s do not look 40) she won't be attractive, but the man who very clearly is older still can be.
