Overpopulation in its own terms means that there are too many humans. However when you walk outside the city walls you'll realize that earth isn't exactly overpopulated. So why is overpopulation an issue? Overpopulation is an issue not because there is too many people but rather not enough resources to take care of the people, especially not enough to take care of the entire population. Over a long period of time we won't even have the resources to take care of the people living in 1st world countries, there won't be enough jobs so unemployment rates go up, more people will be in poverty and places high in poverty have higher crime rates. This is the result of overpopulation.
