But the pros are also numerous. Reviving the national identity, individualism, and societal economic parity would also result from global anarchy. Love for your hometown, for your neighbors, for your countrymen, for your country, for your culture, and for your God, when indulged, provide significant boosts to happiness in all communities. It beckons and satisfies an animalistic urge to prioritize those close to you over those far from you, to thoroughly feel love and hate, prejudice and preference. Global stability, which requires domestication of humanity, does not deliver inequality... and this inequality is indeed what makes us human, and not slaves.

Global instability would also afford citizenry more chances to excel economically, socially, and morally. Instability in the economy is lucrative for the elite, and in the same vein, instability in all aspects of life, when accessible to the entire population, can be lucrative for everyone.

In effect, the choice between global economic stability and global economic instability is a choice between guaranteed survival of a domesticated human race, and the not-at-all guaranteed survival of a free human race. Global anarchy would deliver death and destruction to the weak and afford prosperity to the strong, rather than an equalized, stymied, and unhappy standard of living to all under global stability. The struggle between capitalism and communism has not ended- and communism, by all measures, is winning.

What the elite don't understand is that the universe is a vast place, and their ideal habitats are attainable with technology. When AI can control resource mining, refinement, manufacturing, shipment, installation, and maintenance, there is no need for people anywhere in the chain. There is no need to domesticate the human race, and there is no need to make people unhappy through the economic controls of mass immigration, destruction of national identity, debasing societal self control, and corruption of established norms.

The elite, in a word, should just fuck off. Regular people can have their blissful happiness, their ability to climb socioeconomic ladders, and their autonomy without threatening the livelihood of the elite in a world with AI. A 'happy medium' can be readily established where both the elite and the common man are satisfied.

Approach the war from the same way but ensure the Mk.14 torpedo fuses are working properly ASAP and ensure an early end to the Japanese Merchant Marine fleet. The development of snorkels and boats with far greater battery capacity would also be a great, but that's if we've got the resources and shouldn't draw too much from other projects. What we did in reality was fine but maybe MacArthur wasn't the best choice to head the occupation force. Overall I think this was accomplished fairly well historically. Militaristic elements of culture mostly removed, society pretty decently westernized, military restricted, and we gained an important ally in Asia, so don't alter history much here.
