>Is light infantry outdated?
Why would it be?

No, they're the cheapest unit in the game and are effective against Rocket Troopers, without them your tank blob would get rekt by a group of 15-20 Rocket guys.

light infantry is so OP right now that it's going to make governments obsolete.
when that happens, things are going to get bad.
people will forget how to make computers.

Its so all the women can drive pakis around

>Its so all the women can drive pakis around
What?

Still need dudes on the ground you can't just bomb your way out of every situation.

No, especially not airborne such.

Also, any nation at war would need a shitton of troops just to guard high-value installations and equipment agains enemy SOF-units. And I guess they technically can be considered light infantry.

>you can't just bomb your way out of every situation.

Thats where youre wrong kiddo

To be honest, they should have seen the writing on the wall when they phased out cavalry several decades ago. It's metal or bust.

In 15 years everything will be done with drones. The day of the Chad warrior is ending, the day of the Virgin nerd is coming.

>Is light infantry outdated?
Of course, the issues the US has in places like Afghanistan are with tank battalions and shit. Vietnam war? Tank battalions.

>Far better though if we grow in our partnered or some allied nations, a competent light role capability that can effectively partner with British battle groups. Then there would be no need for the British Army to retain a light infantry role capability within the Regular infantry.

So basically they're saying that they're going to use Americans/Canadians/Australians/ect. as the British Army's "light infantry" units?

It would be interesting to see the Army completely revamp the way things are organized...have divisions completely focused on counter insurgency type warfare as well as traditional divisions focused on fighting china russia etc

>"ouy vey, when da jezus said the meek shall inherit the earth, i didn't think he meant by force!"

>the retarded opinion of a civilian journalist and author posted on some random blog
Why are we even discussing this?

It would honestly make the most sense for it to be nearly 100% counter insurgency considering what they actually deal with day to day.

Until the second American Civil War it is because rebels will be better equipped and trained than the dune coons.

Asymmetrical warfare isn't kind to the big side having huge mobs of dudes running around the woods and fields.

>What?
White men are dangerous racist who caused all the worlds problems and shouldn't be allowed near firearms.
So we'll have all the White British women drive around Pakistani men who replace the British men.

Don't forget: gun grabbers too!

When Sebastian Gorka posted his two gun carry set up (which, admittedly is kind of cringey as it was a 9 and 10mm both on the hip) TaP ripped into him by posting their carry set ups which universally lacked guns and, often knives.

They pondered through out the take down "what are you scared of? I'm spec ops and scared of nothing"

Not exactly. More like them and any host nations. Say, Iraqi or Afghani allied forces, or East European light infantry units.

Does anyone even know what light infantry is or what the British are replacing the light infantry units with? Or the fact that it's just the light infantry in the active army, the army that needs to be deployable in as little time as possible?

lol at the manlet in the middle

Enjoy airlifting in a tank battalion to a mountain top

>Reading comprehension
It was satire, saying that all of Americas recent enemies are nearly 100% light infantry.

No need to read(also I do not intend to give it visits), it's going to be one of these:

>No need for infantry everything will be artillery duels in the future!
>No need for infantry everything will be tank assaults in the future!
>No need for infantry everything will be aerial bombardment in the future!
>No need for infantry everything will be drone swarm attacks in the future!
>No need fo infantry everything will be
pussing buttons for a thermonuclear war! in the future!

For fucks sake, shut it already.

Power fucking armor when?
