See the post I made I realized my mistake as soon as I saw the other angle of the animals head showing the true shape of the ears and the animals paws. From the first picture in the OP, it was not as clear to me.

That looks like most of the tracks got covered up by snow. If I had to guess those are probably the rear prints of something that was sprinting. Probably a dog.
