You can do this Fluffy, just remember the steps.

>Square each leg of the triangle.
>Add the numbers together
>take the square root of that final number

ok

What's everyone doing tonight besides math homework?

Relaxing after a loooong week of work. Also got some new shit in the mail today. (grip, stock, rail, red dot).
What's COTA doing tonight?

Are you just learning by apprenticeship? I had math prerequisites for my CADD/CAMM classes.

Trying to decide what miter saw to buy, the 12" dewalt seems like the obvious choice but the 7 1/4 seems like it would be big enough and while the 10" seems like a middle ground, it's $100 more than the 12 but the 12 is big, maybe too big.

Relaxing. Gf is out with one of our old work friends. Did some shooting and working out earlier. Got rid of my beard, made dinner, and now I'm playing video games.

I want to help you, but I'm afraid you'll never learn.

5x5 + 12x12

square the side lengths, add them, then take the square root of the number you get from that
c'mon dude

Celebrating a new job.

The little numbers above and to the right of the larger numbers, or shown as
>5^2
>five to the second power, five is the big number, 2 is the smaller number above and to the right

tell you to take the left number and multiply it by itself as many times as the number to the left, so

>5^2 = 5x5 = 25
>5^3 = 5x5x5 = 125
>5^5 = 5x5x5x5x5 = 3125

Give it another try Fluffy. Square 5 and square 12, then add them together. Squaring a number is the same as multiplying it by itself.

Then find the square root of that final number. You can do this.

I got the right image for the OP image.

Good adjustable gas block (what I have on my AR10) is the Superlative Arms. Make sure to get the right size so it matches the journal diameter of your barrel.

Normal AR15 gas tubes work with AR10s so just grab whatever is in the right gas system length for your barrel.

IMO this is a decent budget optic for a DMR that is more biased towards long range work

Find a LaRue mount used on ebay.

Oh for trigger just get a Geissele or MBT. If on a budget go MBT I can wait, or Geissele G2S (on sale right now).

Otherwise get one of the nicer two stage Geissele triggers, but I love my MBT.

How about a 14.5" BCM BFH CHF ELW LIGHTWEIGHT MCMR upper?
Pin and weld so you can have a real stock.

IMO if you're running an offset red dot you don't need back up irons. If your scope goes down you've got the red dot. If the red dot goes down, you've got the scope.
Nice image. I like your build. I wouldn't mind seeing what it looks like with the HK stock on there. You said the HK stock didn't wobble much or anything? In that case I would use it, if the lockup and tolerances are good. Who cares about the gap. At least post a picture so we can judge.
That PA scope looks like a budget SWFA lol. Looks good.
Oh if you're going with the battle rifle setup red dot and magnifier, then yes you need back up irons.
I would return the rail. You want the rail heights matching on principle.

>finally
My AC needs to be recharged and it's 90 fucking degrees after a rain.

I would do an 18" for a .308 DMR that is pushing towards precision. But remember that .308 isn't a great precision round to begin with so keeping it more DMR focused will leave you happier and make it so that the results are inline with your expectations.

Start with either of these receiver sets:
primaryarms.com/matrix-arms-ar-308-stripped-receiver-set-dpms-high-ma308-set
e-arms.com/aero-precision-m5-308-stripped-receiver-set-anodized-black/
Then you'll need you upper and lower parts kit:
primaryarms.com/aero-precision-ar-308-lower-receiver-parts-kit-aprh100160
primaryarms.com/aero-precision-ar-308-ejection-port-cover-kit-aprh100107

faxonfirearms.com/match-series-18-heavy-fluted-308-win-5r-416r-nitride-nickel-teflon-extension/

IMO I would go with that Match Series fluted one from Faxon. Then get the BCG from either Faxon or Ballistic Advantage depending on which barrel you get.
ballisticadvantage.com/308-bcg-phosphate.html
faxonfirearms.com/faxon-308-6-5-creedmoor-full-mass-bolt-carrier-group-complete-nitride/

Magpul ACS or SLS stock, or whatever other stock you prefer.

I would also get an adjustable gas block to help it get running.

why the fuck does Google say the square of 5 is 2.23 and the square of 12 is 3.46 but is saying multiplying it by itself.

i was told the ^2 means multiple by 2 or 2 more zeroes

25 x 144 = 169, google say 169 squared is 13

13 i guess

i have zero clue how to do anything other then basic addition, multiplication or division

i only learned long division because of the asvab

Attached: 1498158524156.jpg (961x816, 239K)

I made a spacer that removes the slop caused by the tube mismatch and it fits as tight as a drum and retains adjustability. Honestly the PA scope isn’t the worst thing in the world and the reticle is interesting, being ffp the range estimation is stupid simple. I’ll run it till it breaks or I get tired of the glass. I’ll return the rail and get new pictures with the new rail, mbt, and hk stock in two weeks.

to square something (^2) means to multiply a number by itself
to take the square root of a number means to find a number that when multiplied by itself equals the first number
4^2 or 42 = 16
√16 = 4

Any good sales guys?

Just save up and get a nice piston AR like a PWS or a LWRC.

>Two weeks
You're killing me. Build is looking good though man.

Correct. Good Job Fluffy.
youtube.com/watch?v=b3_lVSrPB6w

>why the fuck does Google say the square of 5 is 2.23
You're confusing squaring a number with taking the square root of a number. 2.23 is the square root of 5. 25 is 5 squared. Squares and square roots are inverse operations, they "undo" each other, kind of like adding and subtracting.

...

You could always use a ruler and compass

>piston AR

Gross, no.

A2 brain washed him and now he's a piston fag

There's "taking the square root" and "squaring" a number, they mean opposite things

Squaring a number would be number^2, so the number multiplied by itself.

The square root of a number (that's the thing that looks like division but with the weird checkmark on the side) is finding the number, that if multiplied by itself, would equal the original number.

So 5^2, five squared, is 25, 5x5
The square root of 25, is 5. 25 = 5x5 = 5^2

(: thanks for your time, ill screen cap this for myself later

You guys...

MCMR looks better.

Good call

Up front, my biggest complaints are a like of sizeable aftermarket and the weight. It's around #7.5-8 unloaded. That and the fact you can't change the grip unless you buy an aftermarket lower.

That said, it's super comfortable. You can tell it was designed by magpul because everything is ergonomically located. A non reciprocating CH, ambi mag release and bolt catch/release, the stock is reminiscent of a UBR with its stationary cheekpiece and moving buttpad, and the grip is essentially a MOE grip. Its got QD points on both sides of the stock and handguard.

Disassembly is pretty much the same as an AR, but with a third captured pin that removes the stock. The handguard and barrel can be removed without tools. The piston system is easy to clean and maintain. The gas block is adjustable.

The newer models are nicer than the old ones like mine, but the biggest difference is a slimmer profile 1/7 twist barrel with an AAC blackout flash hider vs the older govt profile 1/9 twist with either a Smith vortex style FH or an A2 FH.

You can find them used around $1300 or so without any accessories. Mine was $1200 with a couple of extras, buy I talked them into taking an M&P9 I had shot to shit and a GSR 1911 I picked up for $550.

All in all, if you're looking for a not an AR 5.56 rifle, and you don't want to spend SCAR money, and don't want a bullpup, the ACR is a pretty solid choice as a shooter.

With shrubmaster alleging more after market support this year, I'm at least hoping for new handguards. They have conversion kits coming out for a couple calibers and a new ambi charging handle as well as a pistol version of the ACR on the works.

Sorry for the rant.

Pizza all the way.

Attached: IMG_20180525_102557_663.jpg (3465x3024, 2.41M)

Why would you want to introduce piston pop to a suppressed rifle?

Pistons make even less sense with a can. DI contains the pressure longer and better within the receiver, making it the superior system for suppression.

Give me one benefit of a piston ar

the thought of a piston in action gets my dick up

>Pistol ACR

This intrigues me. With one of the new braces coming out (SBA3, Tailhook mod 2) that makes it a more interesting option. I might wait around to see what big green is cooking up.

the bolt velocity and reliability of the rifle doesn't change when you attach and remove the suppressor

Getting tackle and rods set up for the lake tomorrow.

Shot and fished today, will shoot and fish tomorrow.

I can vouch for the SBA3 being the best brace out there right now.

Allegedly Bush master has their own design for a brace cooked up, but we'll see.

Wrong, you have to change the gas block setting

>Hurr durr I forget that the bullet makes a fucking supersonic crack as it travels

>supersonic crack

So let's add more noise. Closer to your face. And not pointed away from you.

Great argument.

Don't do this to me user.

Okay so now your semi automatic rifle doesn't actually function as a semi automatic, and your muzzle energy is about twice that of a supersonic 22LR?

When will he finally take the hint and fuck off?

Attached: 0zKQUXF.jpg (704x453, 51K)

Ye. I didn't say it was a good idea. Blame 5.56 for that lol.

I have a push button socket on my handrail but not on my stock. What sling works with this?

Attached: P_20180523_184916.jpg (4160x2340, 1.81M)

Hopefully the Remington bankruptcy won't filter over and de-rail the ACR plans.

Your rear....

vickers bfg sling can accommodate this.

>get a qd endplate
>or tie one end through your stock's sling slit
>or get the proctor sling

No your argument is the one that is awful. You're claiming that a piston AR with a can is noisier than a DI AR with a can, and while that might be true that argument is fucking awful because the bottom line is that the supersonic crack of the the bullet is still loud as fuck, is what a 3rd party is going to hear, and you should be wearing ear pro. The reduced blowback, reduced gas to face, and reduced fouling clearly outweigh any marginal increase in loudness at the shooter's ear, or for a third party.

Replace stock with something that has a QD socket. Most Magpul stocks have QD sockets.

Yay bubby got my form 1 back today boys.

>put silencer on rifle to make it quieter

>advocate for action that makes it louder

Wew.

Literally every other """"benefit"""" of a piston can be obtained with a DI setup or is a complete non-issue.

on low magnification it will be noticeable and may be obstructive
on high magnification (4x and up) it won't be visible.

Do piston ARs still gouge buffer tubes?

you'll see it through your scope but it'll be blurry fairly unobstructive

lucky queer

What a waste of a stamp

Nice
he can still replace the stock and optic

>Makes it louder
Marginally. Like I said you need to be wearing ear pro regardless, and to a 3rd party the effective suppression is going to be roughly the same. They might perceive a slightly different tone, but the bottom line is that the small increase in dB is offset by the massive reduction in fouling, blowback, gas to face, and increased reliability.
>Complete non-issue
Kind like your PSA being just as good right?

Some poorly designed retrofit kits yes. Properly design piston kits have this issue remedied. PWS, LWRC, and Superlative Arms to name a couple.

Congrats dude.

Nah dude. I'm clearly here because I get the feeling people like me.
