Straight pull is best pull edition.

Straight pull is best pull but which m95 is best?
Regardless canada>swiss>everyone else

I don't have an OG M95, but the long M95/30s are definitely smoother than the carbine conversions. My shorty was a Stutzen that was converted to a carbine, which sucks because the carbine sling swivels dig into my hands.

Where 2 acquire an M91 stock for not expensive?
I have all the parts and a peter the great 1915 barreled receiver but no stock.

libertytreecollectors.com/productcart/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=28

Would cutting off that fatass grenade launcher on my Yugo SKS improve its balance?

>libertytreecollectors.com/productcart/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=28
M91 mosin nagant, hence the peter the great bit.

Love shooting my Bulgarian M95. Kicks like a motherfucker using WWII surplus too.

What are some underrated milsurp rifles that aren't that expensive (maybe $600 at most) and still in a reasonably common caliber?

Attached: _DSF2829.jpg (2816x1584, 1.99M)

No, but it would make you a bubba and a cretin, and destroy the collector's value of an item that's been steadily rising in price over the past few years.

Odd, i wonder why the rifles are smoother. I figured the carbines would just be cut down.
This is going to sound autistic but i cant get over a gun needing clips to function. I know its not really different than a magazine but it irks me a bit. Il get over it once i get a rifle that needs clips im sure

Thinking of using the barreled m91 receiver for a obrez project if I can't find a non expensive stock.

What bent bolt surp would be the best to mount a scope on? I ask bent bolt because I don't wanna modify it too much.

Yugo

>What are some underrated milsurp rifles that aren't that expensive (maybe $600 at most) and still in a reasonably common caliber?
Any of the .22 trainers like the WZ-48, M-56, or MAS-45. An FR-8 in .308 caliber. Maybe a Spanish Mauser in 7x57, which is less common but still not total unobtanium.

None of them. Destroying the collectors value of a classic rifle to put a scope on it is dumb enough, but it's even more so when you realize that basically none of these rifles is accurate enough to really benefit from it. They were 3-4 MOA when they were brand new, and now they're 70 years old with a bunch of worn parts. If you want a gun that will take a scope and shoot MOA, buy a Savage Axis.

>Thinking of using the barreled m91 receiver for a obrez project if I can't find a non expensive stock.
That doesn't make much sense. Why would you spend $200 on an NFA tax stamp and spend a year waiting for paperwork instead of just buying a stock off of Numrich or Liberty Tree?

Maybe hes just going to do it and not pay the stamp?

>Maybe hes just going to do it and not pay the stamp?
So... he hates his dog?

Attached: Dk0O1bf.png (640x360, 232K)

Liberty tree doesn't have them, senpai.
Numrich doesn't have them either.

Plus if you cut and reweld the receiver it's technically producing a new pistol from scrap, and doesn't need a stamp.

Im all for ignoring laws so im probably not the best person to ask. Seems as long as youre not retarded id be stupid hard to get caught

>Plus if you cut and reweld the receiver it's technically producing a new pistol from scrap, and doesn't need a stamp.
As if anyone here has either the agency or the technical skill for that.
Basically any range that sees someone firing an SBR will ask to see their paperwork. And do you really want to take the chance of federal felony firearms charges just to bubba a nugget?

>As if anyone here has either the agency or the technical skill for that.
Nigga, you don't own a saw or know how to weld?
That's like, basic adult male stuff.

I'm the dude that's probably going to bubba it into an obrez because >no stocks for sale, btw.

>I'm the dude that's probably going to bubba it into an obrez because >no stocks for sale, btw.
“I’m going to competently do major gunsmithing work that will produce a gun that totally won’t blow up in my face because I lack the patience and agency to find an extremely common component on the internet.”

Sure you will.

I think taking it to a range counts as being retarded. Thats the kind of stuff you take to the woods/desert when no ones around.
It wont end well but you can tell pretty much anyone without a warrent to fuck off. Stamps are tax documents after all.

Cutting and welding are 100% not major gunsmithing work.
You could do it in any random guy's garage in an hour with teenage level competency.
M91 stocks are neither extremely common nor extremely cheap, and I've always wanted an obrez.

Are Star B Supers good?
I kind of want one or a BM. I prefer longboi barrels but BMs are really cheap right now.

I'd like to thank the kommando that repaired the stock on my M95 after USPS so lovingly obrez'd it. The original looks sooooooo much better than the replacement the dealer sent me.

Attached: stock comparison.png (1817x820, 3.66M)

I have no idea if Super Bs are any good, but rguns has the regular Model B in stock ATM.

>“I’m going to do shitty amateur welding work on something that will contain a controlled explosion in my hand, because I consider that to be a better alternative than paying a few bucks for some gun parts I want.”

Good judgment, user.

>”I’ll just say ‘Hey pig, got a warrant? Case if not, you can fuck off!’”
I guess Cops has been off the air long enough that young people these days haven’t watched it and don’t know that shit doesn’t work.

Has anyone converted a steyr m95 to 7.62x54r? Also, is there anywhere you can get the 8mm Mauser m95m for under 400?

>anywhere you can get the 8mm Mauser m95m for under 400?
That's a good one hank's wife.

Dutch M95 is a personal favorite.

The top one could probably be repaired... Well. reconditioned. But yea. it looks like a moldy prune. That would need a full refinish and steam bath.
I think that repair turned out great.

>pic unrelated
phase two of repairs went swell. I think I'll name her Taff

Before picture.

Starting to look better, user.

Who? And yes where, are they really that rare and collectible? It’s just an 8mm version of the gun, that’s all, should be worth just a little more. Only care since 8mm is cheaper and more common than 8x56r.

I know a guy who can repair that. He specializes in k98k stocks, but he's really fucking good.

so good only a handful of rifles were ever adopted with that design and nobody bothers with it anymore

Every semi auto today is just a straight pull with an automatic return system.

Every hobby has their bubbas.

Attached: YbKSNZy[1].jpg (540x960, 37K)

Regular carbine m95s are going for around 400, not a chance in hell you'll find the rarest variant for that price. Especially not if I find it first :^)

the milsurp market in canada summarized

Attached: arisakalmao.png (951x617, 945K)

>I was told it was done up for a high ranking Japanese officer

Attached: 1520661506418.jpg (696x720, 30K)

I did say it would end badly

Disgusting, a Japanese rifle. Should have been left to be rusted or be melted down.

did i get a good deal for my 1907 enfeild bayonet
for 80$ also a fn 49 bayonet with scabbard both in great condition got the fn 49 for 40$.

m48 and mosin nagant is all i can think of name-wise

Israeli Mausers are fairly cheap. Sub-600 encompasses most surp so get what you want I guess.

Attached: IMG_20180408_155958.jpg (4048x3036, 3.7M)

Is $200 for a mosin OK? It's all matching, 1943 round receiver. The wood has basically no dents or damage to it, bluing is fine, and the bore is clean.

>plastic butt plate on my lee enfield
>seeing a bunch of bras butt plates for sale

should I bros? this plastic thing looks weird and is pretty chewed up.

Attached: 1404919873015.jpg (300x287, 92K)

That's pretty alright in 2018.

The best kind of import marks are the ones that take you over 5 years to even notice.

Attached: 20180526_142823.jpg (2899x1293, 1.96M)

The import mark on my SMLE is like that. It's at the back of the receiver and just says CAI at the wood line

Attached: IMG_20170626_160743.jpg (2643x3006, 1.92M)

Hell yeah, I paid 200 for this beat-to-shit Type 53 last year, so you're doing pretty well for a 91/30 in great condition

Attached: IMG_20180408_155929~2.jpg (4024x2040, 3.35M)

Plastic isn't a milspec part. The closest thing is the rubber pad on the No5. replace it guilt free.

Attached: Terriblesmelly.jpg (1900x729, 344K)

Who else here /Ross/?

Attached: IMG_20180408_160116~2.jpg (3824x1341, 2.37M)

1896/11 Master Race, coming through.

I invaded what is basically an /arg/ range, and someone actually asked me "what type of Mosin is that?"

Attached: IMG_20180525_115648.jpg (3036x4048, 3.62M)

thats weaponized autism.

Whats up with the blinders? Judging by the amount of divots in it, its definitely an AR range.
>Hand standing shooting permitted

Attached: Mas36.jpg (2482x841, 516K)

It was a bunch of navy dudebros, so I'm not that surprised.

The sign reads "no off-hand standing shooting permitted". There's another one that says "bench shooting only". It's the only place within a two hour drive that's 100 yards though... The blinders are so brass doesn't go flying into your neighbor. It never works.

>tfw ross mk2 but no ross mk3

suffering I swear. still have no idea how to read the ross mk2 sights nor where they default.

Attached: 1486246928336.jpg (428x344, 90K)

The mk3 is nice as fuck. Ive never seen a mk2 in person

The MK2 has some interesting design choices, not even counting the ones bubba made for me. The drop magazine is pretty neat though.

Attached: IMG_20180408_160210.jpg (4048x3036, 2.67M)

>let me chop off this wood to save half a pound of weight
>let me also drill holes into it for muh durr huntin' scope because I'm too stupid to use the original sights
I get asspained every time I see a "sporterized" gun. Also fuck people who think guns are only for hunting.

>The drop magazine is pretty neat though.

what was the point of it though? was it to counteract rimlock? shit works pretty well for it.

The main purpose was so soldiers could just dump rounds in and press the dump lever to seat them in the magazine. In reality it's only really used to bounce around the cartridges to fix rimlock.

Also, don't feed Wolf to your Ross.

I'm legitimately thinking about putting a scope on it just to have a scoped straight pull. Bubba already drilled the holes so I wouldn't be fucking it up any further.

>don't feed Wolf to your Ross.

what happens if I do? only ever fed PPU since no one near me sells .303 I may as well order the good stuff.

>get long krag 1898
>no top handguard

not up to date on all the krag versions I assume there needs to be some wood to protect the rear sight? I see it in every picture of the krag. seemed odd since the rear band is tight to the barrel.

Attached: 1478678040119.jpg (346x346, 29K)

>best straight pull

Attached: IMG_20180113_232717_HDR.jpg (2560x1920, 864K)

Attached: IMG_20180408_153119~2.jpg (2339x1913, 1.12M)

Early Krags never had a handguard. That was a later addition. Its not really to protect the rear sight, its so you don't burn yourself afixing bayonet or stabbing enemies of the state.

Attached: KragCivilizationStarter.jpg (2500x1614, 1.11M)

Take that scope off you mongoloid

Attached: 1516855616511.jpg (520x718, 35K)

Why does everyone on gunbroker want 700+ for k31s? Classic sold out stupid fast so i wasnt able to order.

Swedish mauser m8

They know what they got. no lowball

Attached: Kay31.jpg (2586x761, 642K)

Attached: 1527106144573.png (459x360, 269K)

Il keep hunting i guess. I suppose i could get a k11 or 1889 in the meantime.
Whats the difference between a k11 and 1889/11? 1889/11 should just be 1889 rifles upgraded to the 1911 standard right?

Disregard i got the models mixed up. 96/11 is what i shouldve said.

Just picked this up

Attached: 10F8E93F-5048-4420-A686-3574EA4CA115.jpg (4032x3024, 2.34M)

Well put it back down. Its not yours. stop touching stuff.

Picked up this Czech lion Vz24 the other day. Been collecting vintage militaria forever but this is the first milsurp rifle of my own, and hopefully the first of many, many more.

Attached: Vz24-1.jpg (1080x810, 170K)

Your carpet is filthy. but that rifle looks good even with the fuzzy cellhphone sketch. The Czech can make a very good Mauser.

Attached: Persian Mauser.jpg (1417x1619, 860K)

Nice Mauser and Czechnology.

Attached: Maus-er_und_Mauser_08-11-2017_A.jpg (1600x1043, 1.3M)

...you need to rent a carpet cleaner.

Does ~2k sound about fair for the swiss straight pull family? Minus the snipers of course

Ya.. that's right next to my work area and I've spilled paint water and shit like that a few times over the years.
Very happy with this rifle tho

Attached: Vz24-O.jpg (1080x1440, 407K)

The whole thing? Only specific models? Thats a very broad range of rifles If you'r ejsut talking the big three infantry rifles then no. If we're talking the rifles and carbines it can easy be a steal.

1889 96/11 1911 k11 and k31. All have their slings and some have the muzzle cover, looks like theyre all around 70% to my untrained eye

You’re missing a bunch of non sniper Swiss straight pulls from the list. That price seems fine though.

Attached: F129C26B-7180-47BC-B48D-688D66C3B2E6.jpg (1024x683, 195K)

I really want one of these. There are always a few up on gunbroker. Are they all pretty much ok? Any ones to avoid?

Really? I thought that was all of them. What am i missing?

That's it.

Those are the main ones, he's probably referring to stuff like the 1893 Mannlicher and the like

Because they sell for that much.
