>non lethal ammo in a service rifle
Gee I wonder

Varmint round designed to wound. Also the shockwave of it going past can kill you and the ping noise alerted the germans during gunfire which had enough stopping power for the maori tribesmen

Not enough stopping power to take down a man so it is useless in war, and it will blow a deer into pieces so it is useless as a hunting round.

> designed to wound
> does
> barrel less long
> wounds more smol

Nothing its a perfectly fine round.

It drew the ire of Fudds and noguns who want to sound informed.

>round
>is pointy

Kek

>kiwi poster?

Ya apparently, its all a gigantic world wide conspiracy to use 556 and similar rounds.

But really your an idiot militaries around the world did studies after WW2, and beyond and decided that full rifle rounds were inferior for general infantry use.

It got popular and the entire firearm community, including the military, is full of contrarian idiots

>1000s of rounds fired
>58 dead
>600 wounded

Las Vegas proved it's a useless round.

proof?

out of all the things vegas didn't prove, it didn't prove that the most

But-but it wounds enemy soldiers which means his team need to evacuate him and then on top of that he's eliminated from combat for some time.

That's why militaries all around the world including the US slowly start to reconsider using 7.62 or at least arming one team unit member with gun that is capable firing this cartridge.

your entire life

a better round would've had a higher body count.

This man’s seen enough of these threads to know what’s up

Shits where it eats after bouncing around in the skull weapon system

Except they’re doing this because of range issues when fighting guerillas, not because of power.

Or perhaps because 7.62 has higher stopping power

Design hasn’t been changed for a hundred years because it’s so loose that it works the dust and mud out of its action because it uses the superior .45x51 NATO round

This point is invalid considering they’re changing the squad MG and DMRs to 7.62, not the service rifles.

Good for shooting through engine blocks after GIs would throw them against trees and pick up a muddy personal defense automatic rifle they even designed the magazine to be used as a seat

>still believes the Vegas shooting was done with a bump stock

Kalashnikov thought the Bren gun was too accurate so he stole and copied the design of the Germans first assault rifle the m1 carbine and invented the AK74u that doesn’t require complex tools to make just a hammer and dremel just like the glorious bomb proof Mauser nagant that works after being run over with a tank

sorry but no one is seriously considering going back to full size rifle cartridges. Also most DMR's are still 556.

This. Mk262 out of an M27 has a 600-800+ effective range while having incredibly large permanent wound channels.

USMC's, and Armies DMR is 556, and so are many other countries. Yes russia is 762, and it is reasonable that DMR's could be 30cal, but for standard infantry, the amount of rounds you can carry, and as long as they can cause casualties thats all that matters.

Yeah, I know. Mk262 is a true beast. The poster I was responding to seemed to think that they were changing riflemen’s rifles to 7.62

I have fired some of the black hills secondhand mk262 it is great.
