What condition did you order it from CMP in?

nice rifle. did you refinish the gas tube?

Attached: garandlarge4.jpg (2016x1512, 1.7M)

nice figuring on that front hand guard

Thank you. Nice variety you got there.

id suggest just buying a new gas cylinder and lock if yours being in the white bothers you. cruise ebay and you should be able to find one on the cheap, or grab one from ammogarand and you dont really have to worry about it being in spec or not. a bit spendy though

Service grade. I live about 1.5 hrs away, so I was able to go down and pick it out in person.
Nope. Except for the sling, nothing has been modified.
Gorgeous rifles. Especially the one in the left

I'll be buying a service grade as well when I get a full time job, but I don't live close enough to just pick one up. "2-4 months shipping" oof

ty

yeah that one is my favorite, early '44 correct

Attached: ping_receivers.jpg (6899x3067, 3.8M)

We will see. Thank you for the tip. im not sure how much the shiny cylinder bothers me. I kind of like it in a way. but a dark one might be in store for it eventually.

Attached: garand5.jpg (640x479, 136K)

I'm very happy with mine. And I got very lucky I think. Sweet digits on a prewar rifle and original wood.
And here I thought it couldn't get any prettier

>2-4 months shipping

Its absolutely worth the wait.

mine took about 10 weeks BTW

Attached: garandlarge2.jpg (2016x1512, 1.91M)

>live about 1.5 hrs away
north or south store? Im about 90 mins from the north store but they haven't had much of anything worth buying lately

on early garands they were still trying to figure out the parkerizing so it cooked off the high temp parts. could be original to the rifle.

makes for a nice part of the collection but also makes me almost feel bad shooting it, especially since its ME 1 TE 1

Attached: IMG_1826.jpg (3024x4032, 3.06M)

In that case I like it even more.

Love that dark Springfield dude.

any tips on finding a good bayonet?

Attached: garandlarge3.jpg (2016x1512, 1.69M)

South store. Which means I'm also 1.5 hrs from the range. Here's last summer (Not when I got it)

Some ebay seller in the netherlands was selling a bunch a while back, I paid $100. Looks like he still has them

ebay.com/itm/WWII-US-army-airborne-M1-GARAND-BAYONET/350894190816?hash=item51b2ec70e0:g:vSIAAOSwtXtbA~HK

Shipping took 3 weeks IIRC

and here are some AFH manufacture ones for a bit more

ebay.com/itm/Excellent-WWII-US-AFH-M1-GARAND-BAYONET-with-SCABBARD/112085285638?epid=936384540&hash=item1a18cdbb06:g:NSgAAOSwIgNXpvgN

thats not bad. When I went last year they had a good smattering of stuff but my trip in april all they had were drill rifles and sniper models. fingers crossed those korean ones make it back someday

Thanks, yeah it’s got a few H&R parts, but the barrel and receiver are original. I was kind of shocked how nice it was when I got it, it has really minimal wear.

About to sell my T series tomorrow.

how many monies

$800. I could probably sit on it longer for more but I'm not greedy and I'm profitting decently. Realistically could have gotten $9-950 it's in amazing shape, 1968

Presumably does, being that it has an actual buttstock rather than a brace.

damn, you're letting yourself get robbed if its in anything close to decent shape

>baby hands grip

could make double that on gunbroker. if you dont care to get much for it just keep it for yourself, they're collectibles now

>any tips on finding a good bayonet?
Depends, are you looking for a US made, or will you settle for any M1 bayonet?

This is the best deal I have found on my travels. German made for Greek service. 3 for $50 no sheath.

I give you this because I rather have a burger made blade.

It doesn't have the case or box
