Its a SIG MCX, stock is a Safety Harbor pistol brace with a tailhook mod 1. I went with the acog because the gun is 300 BLK and its still gonna be effective and accurate out to ~450m even with the short barrel
Movies going to suck so bad >hurt I decided to not kill cartels guys kids anymore because this guys daughter looks like mine Fuck that

Combat deployment or other exposure to combat while in the military = Veteran.
Peacetime CONUS Enlistment or a cush OCONUS noncombat deployment to Okinawa, Germany, etc does not make a Veteran.
I do not denigrate a Service Member who did their job but did not get a combat deployment or combat exposure but I don't consider them a Veteran either.
It doesn't really matter though, Applebee's will still give them a free plate in November.
I would have gone for a variable instead of a fixed optic but whatever.
The patches are gay.
What's in the admin pouch? What plates do you have?
Chase Jackson
Worry not, patches are getting replaced because I don't like them either. The big M patch is there because the plate carrier had it on from the mfg and I never took it off.
Admin pouch is empty. What should I put in there?
Plates are Hesco 4400 multi-curved SAPI cut with a Spartan Armor trauma pad backing

I want some combat boots should get the Austrian para boots on KS, BW ks2000 boots off varusteleka, or the BW ks2005 boots off varusteleka? Non-surp options not being considered.
Nicholas Russell
Oh also, I tried a variable, they're just too long for me with this rifle. Theres not a lot of space.
Jack Sanders
You've got ammo, what are you doing for water and medical? What medical training have you received?
Good job not buying AR500.
Samuel Rodriguez
thanks, it looks pretty nice.
Logan Wilson
LOWA Zephyrs >Non-surp options not being considered. Fuck off to a surp thread.
Gavin Morris
I have zero medical training and for water I'm literally just throwing bottled water in a backpack. I figure I should at least get a tourniquet and israeli bandages. Maybe a camelback for hydration?
Christian Turner
I'm a big homo for these guys darkangelmedical.com/training/ I strongly encourage you to sign up for a class even if you need to do some traveling to attend.
The latest generation CAT or SOF-T should be your tourniquet choices. I also support (((their))) bandage.
Yes, get a good quality water bladder for hydration.
Logan Ramirez
Will do, thanks!
Nolan Kelly
surp threads are dead and mostly about guns

Friendly reminder that bathroom pictures are peak performance.
tasteful nagoya whip. shitty mic tho. buy a cheap throat mic on amazon at least. they aren't that bad.
also why is nobody in /gq/ a fan of flat fronts? y'all spend too much time vertical.
William Morris
Those under-helmet mics are pretty good and cheaper than full-on peltors
Henry Ortiz
Myself and some freinds of mine tried out the cheap throat mics. They all broke or sounded like crap. Ive heard you need to spend good money to get one that is worth it. Guggi comms is not at the top of my priority list right now. Shoulder mic works for now, its woven into my kit so i dont have to mess with cables and headsets, just grab and go. I can plug an earbud into the mic if i want to. Its all a work in progress.
>I Need an antenna relocation cable. That radio likely makes use of the ground plane built into the chassis. Any relocation cable is going to have to account for losing the ground side of the antenna system. I would not spend too much time or money refing a system like that. By the time you get your technical issues resolved you will likely realize that, as only a member of a net, that you do not need to constantly twiddle the knobs. You can probably mount the radio in a less convenient location and get full utility out of it.
Luke Gomez
>Myself and some freinds of mine tried out the cheap throat mics. They all broke or sounded like crap. That is my experience as well. Also, they tend to require full vocalization - precluding whispering. >Shoulder mic works for now The speaker/mic is the unsung low cost/high functionality hero of the remote PTT world. >I can plug an earbud into the mic if i want to. This results in hearing pro integrated into your system and allows you to leave the volume set at medium while still utilizing your radio in a high ambient noise environment (no volume knob fiddling). >all a work in progress Master operating in a network and you will likely find that you need very little gear other than the radio/mic/earphone. I would only recommend replacing everything for higher quality alternatives once funds allow. The net controller is typically the only person that needs to constantly fiddle with a wide array of gear.
Levi James
BigThink. I have my HAM Tech licence but ill admit I dont know a shit ton about the specifics. Im treating this garbo uv5r as an overgrown walkie talkie. Im not expecting much of it, just to talk to other dudes in closeish proximity.
But il look into it. I think i know a guy with a SWR meter, if i do get the cable i can make sure it does not tank the SWR.
Sebastian Morgan
Here’s some medical training that legit. Not as good as being trained in-person, but better than nothing.
If you are getting a TQ, also get occlusive seals which are just as important for use on the trunk of the body.
Connor Cruz
>SWR meter SWR is a false god. Look at the SWR results of a J-Pole. My question remains: Why do you need to fiddle directly with the radio? Unless you are changing nets then you should not need to fiddle with it. Consider how a cop uses his radio - set it and forget it. Use it as a tool. Do not let it complicate your activities.
Isaac Gonzalez
are you a jtac or just a faggot that likes to buy the same setups as one
Jacob Miller
It will be set it and forget it. I guess my biggest concern is being able to reach the volume knob without having to have someone else do it for me or removing my gear. Maybe its not a big enough issue to warrent it being mounted in the front. Got my brain juices flowing. Where do you mount your radio?
William Stewart
Yes, I am trying to be Jtac, with my Gasp uniform, fake raybans, and a Norwegian flag and equipment.
Michael Harris
Anyone have experience with a tarahumara pack? Can you fit two regular water bottles in one of the side pockets?
Ryan Nelson
>Where do you mount your radio? Radio on the rear of the PC. It and the antenna are out of the way. For overt use I have a speaker/mic on the left shoulder. For covert use I just add the earphone. This is a Kenwood KEP-1 with the tube shoved into a legit earplug from Titan Tactical. I just shove the other earplug in the other ear for full protection. Do not use the standard earplug from the KEP-1 or similar. They are too small and, if they are dislodged from the tube, can migrate deep into your ear canal.
Water is second only to ammo. They make molle back panel mounted hydration packs. Makes it easy to throw a backpack over as long as your hydro isnt a crazy shape.
Colton Nelson
I forgot to add that you need to nip the very tip off of the TT earplug to get a full air channel from the acoustic tube of the KEP-1 to the ear. A medium audio setting with full ear pro serves very well across a wide range of environments, precluding fiddling with the volume knob.
>Water is second only to ammo. In the desert it is not even second. If you do not carry water then every breathing moment will be occupied with thinking about where you will find water. You become a slave to the search.
Cameron Ross
Thanks for the advice my dude. I'll mess around with relocating my radio later this week.
Logan Kelly
This is why I like “universal” sized double mag pouches. They fit two rifle mags, but you let the elastic out a little bit and they are roomy enough to fit a water bottle. On my current hikes in 95+ humid terrain, my vest carries loads of 16oz bottles rather than mags.
>legal definitions don't matter >only mine does >by the way I was in combat >did I mention I was in combat? >'cause I was in combat and not many people have been in combat

>Consider how a cop uses his radio - set it and forget it. Only if you're in a very small agency. Medium to large and you'll be working the dial as you get bounced to different district, use inquiry, hot traffic, etc. On a slow night I might switch channels 6 times. On a busy night I'll probably switch it 30 times.
He didn't ask for the legal definition and I never said I was in combat in any of those posts but your asspain at my actual experience is humorous.
M8 that is way too many pockets. Get a 50-80l pack depending on scenario.
Lincoln Sanchez
Because you like having bullet holes in you?
Josiah Adams
I was a hungry skeleton all through highschool, Ive come a long way since then. I can only see my gains when im flexing, I want those "that guy works out" arms. Feels bad man.
Depends on your leadership from the CSM all the way down to whoever is directly above you.
I was wearing my own plate carrier, whatever shirt I wanted, a baseball hat, and a super gay shemagh and one of the units I was attached to could only wear the issued IOTV, issued equipment, and they all had to wear it identically.
Same, eat big and lift big, my dude.
Jayden Scott
Your unit commander has the final say, your commander follows both regs as well as SOP that is relevant which comes down from the top.
*Generally* you have to wear the issued armor and the issues helmet. With the standard IOTV, sideplates are a current standard. All of the accompanying neck, shoulder, and groin soft armor pieces are up to the commander.
Under normal conditions full armor IOTVs are the standard for line troops deployed to a combat theater. A change of SOP exception can authorize swapping them out for plate carriers. In this case troops will generally be limited to wearing only the issued plate carrier.
In my unit, our commander in theater allowed wearing aftermarket plate carriers with some restrictions on make and model. This isn’t the norm though.
When it comes to pouches and chest rigs, there is a much higher chance of being allowed to wear your own stuff. Generally so long as it is in reasonable colors and doesn’t look too stupid, people won’t make a big deal. An NCO *can* tell one of his troops to take off some gear pouches if it is not to his liking. Most units have baseline SOP for where to put medical pouches and some other things.
Some units however go full faggot and have-
Jordan Moore
-fully written out SOP lists for how to lay or every single pouch and tell you that only issued pouches are ok to wear.
Sticking shit on your rifle. You can get away with your own lights and grips in most units. Many will let you swap the buttstock out. It is very rare to be allowed to use your own optic, though some unit armorers will let people swap between issued optics depending on what is in the arms room. Again, variable, some units are super gay and demand specific setups.
All of these rules get more lax on a deployment, especially if you’re somewhere isolated from big command. This isn’t to say you are allowed to make certain changes, but if nobody is around to enforce the rules, who’s going to stop you? Lot of guys will wear out of regs jackets, boots, and hats when isolated. Some will ignore unit specific SOPs and pimp out their gear. Obviously all this gets undone before they head home.

surp boots are ass

some differences since this was taken, but idea still the same
The decision was made: the British troops fixed bayonets. They ran across 600 feet of open ground toward the entrenched enemy. Once on top of the Mahdi fighters, the British bayoneted 20 of the militia. Fierce hand-to-hand combat followed for five hours. The Queen's men suffered only three injuries.
Seizing the initiative, and with two soldiers providing covering fire, Jones said that he ordered three men to fix bayonets along with him, and that he got his 'Commander's Legs' on and charged straight at the enemy:

first carrier- should I just wait for blue force gear's Last Call next year? 4th of July sales? buy used? trying to see if I can complete a rig for $200 or less like the guide claims.
Logan Young
$200 without plates? nah
Luke King
well at least the guide says I can LOOK like an operator for less than 200, i assumed that means not running plates. but besides the plates, it seems doable. got any advice for a newfag?
Asher Wilson
Skip getting a plate carrier if you can’t afford plates and get a chest rig/LBE. You can always wear it atop a plate carrier later.
Parker Nelson
If you're poor, don't buy a plate carrier. Also carriers without plates flop around, which is bad.
