Nice blog post. Also, the politicians didn’t lose Vietnam. The Army just spent most of the time trying to do conventional warfare, completely ignoring they were in an a war that was unconventional. The top generals were morons, personnel policies were fucking idiotic, and the training of the South Vietnamese was stupid. Can agree on a lot of the other stuff though.

The American Reporters had no intention on learning vietnamese, but the communists were great propagandists. That's why the lie of the guerilla war was kept up for so long, ignoring the fact that the liberation front for south vietnam was created in 1960 by the north. Thats also why the tet offensive is a "loss" for the south even though the communists admitted that it was a horrible loss. The NLF was created by the North and that alone should have been justification enough to invade.
