First for ROTC Questions like last thread:

yo s/meg/ma

I'm looking at ROTC/NROTC with grad school to go into reserves.(I know that you can do ROTC as a grad student in a lot of units, as long as you do it for a minimum 2 years)

Can anyone explain the process of ROTC through to getting a commission? I get that I would drill and PT with the school's unit the whole time I'm there, and spend my summers probably at a base somewhere doing the equivalent of basic/ocs, but is there any shit you have to do otherwise that would drag me away from a day job outside of that? What I mean is, do I have to re-do 6+ months of training or anything after graduation or do I just go straight into normal drill?

I can get my work to pay for my master's degree and give me 2-3 years to go get it done, but it would become troublesome if I have to take an extra 6 months to go do some training beyond that.

The reason I'm looking at grad+rotc is that it lets me get both done at the same time without missing even more years of work.

Attached: 13.gif (300x100, 67K)

After you graduate, they send you to a training similar to ocs during summer. Then any additional school training is pretty much at the discretion of your command, but they usuallyleave it for summertime.

Also, what 6 month training are you talkingabout?

350F here AMA, just walking around busch gardens trying to entertain a 4 year old and not chokeslam elmo. Already in the shithouse with the wife for spinning the tea cup ride too fast and bumping her with the bumper cars too much. Turkey legs are fuckin good though.

Preparing for IDF sf selection and I don't live in a country that has sand dunes

currently running every morning until I cant and doing calysthetics

should I fill my camping bag with rocks and hike through a provincial park for 6 - 10 hours with no socks?

anything else I can do to prepare?

Warrant question.

How do you become a warrant? I'm looking to enlist but I'd like to warrant down the road.

>IDF
?

(((greatest ally defence forces)))

Easiest explanation is, make it to almost E7 and apply. For most warrant positions you need 3-5 years of direct work exp in that particular feeder mos, have ALC done(usually only given to E6), and have a few good ratings and boards done as well as reference letters. Its easier than it sounds. Hardest part is getting ALC done.

Or do both man. I do my runs / rucks in the early morning, lift heavy around my lunch, and my interval shit in the late afternoon. Of course I also have one of the most flexible work and school schedules...

Just make sure if you go the lifting route that you have very good form, especially if you're doing 1-4RM stuff for deadlifts, back squats, and other full-body movements. Like legit save up a bit and get a couple sessions with a strength and conditioning specialist. It will help you immensely. Also, learn how to plan your own programs. The mountain athlete stuff is great but I've noticed most of the SOF guys I've worked with just create their own plans based off a combination of mountain athlete, gym jones, and ironman-type plans.

Well shit. I'm going op 40 but I don't want to go through training with glasses. When would I be eligible?

You can get it at first unit, so probably wont workout. FYI in basic/boot they make you wear safety glasses 24/7 even if your vision is fine. I went through osut and airborne just fine.

Good to know. I'm working on my waiver and was going to do 35F to 35L. But since 35L is open to initial entry I'm trying to go that route.

I was curious on warrant because if I end up going through SFAS or stayed 35L I wanted to go warrant.

no 24/7 lense reqs in navy or marine boot my man.
plenty of people who have weak prescriptions would forgo their glasses except for class times

Ya but hes going army, the basic/boot was just force of habbit.

Well, if you go 18x eventualy, they just place their top dude in the warrant position, and for 35L it will probably be better now that they are gonna get a bunch more enlisted dudes, cause right now its super hard to get a 351L position since no one retires and most warrants end up as commanders for CI offices leading agents.

Good to know. Any idea how long a waiver takes these days? Recruiter said I basically need a civilian doctor to give me a physical to send in for my waiver. Had a very intensive physical for my current job (industrial electrician with Bechtel) but the doctor wouldn't give me a copy. So I need to get that physical done ASAP. I want to ship to basic asap because I'm almost 31, not getting any younger.

What do you mean the doctor wouldnt give you a copy? Go back and demand it, they cant withold your personal medical records. No need to waste time and money getting another one done. Honestly the waiver takes as long as it takes the doctor to get to it and go through it, so make sure they have everything they need so to not delay its progress.

Probably because it wasn't me that paid for the physical. It was Bechtel.

I'll try giving them a call tomorrow on lunch. I was a little pissed they wouldn't give it to me right then and there. Cause that's some bullshit.

By right and HIPPA, that shits yours. They cant withold your medical records. Practically no company or organization can. Just say you want a copy either physical or electronic of your records.

Yeah, I worked for insurance for a while and I thought it was some bullshit. I just didn't push it cause I was in a hurry to get this job lined up. But now I've got the time to get on them.

HOW LIKELY AM I TO DIE IN THE ARMY AS A 68W????????????

Asked last thread, but how specifically is rasp easier for pogs? Less smoking? Extra sleep at Cole range? And are pogs separated from grunts?

Its the fucking same.

Yeah there's a chance you might die in a car accident driving around base

That's what I'd have assumed. Why do people keep saying it's easier?

Cause they cant do a simple google search. They think somehow rasp seperates MOS. I dont know where they possibly read where there was a seperate rasp/rip ever.

Whats the best branch and why?

Most airman and coastguards I met seem to be the most content with their jobs and quality of life.

Haven't been around many sailors and soldiers and marines seem depressed and sad.

he asked the best branch, not the best for quality of life and jobs.
best branch is obviously marines. the cost of being the best means you disregard quality of life and jobs.

Food at Busch Gardens is 10/10. Really bummed out last time I went, it was the middle of July this time instead of spring break like I usually went and I was unaware how much Florida summers suck ass. There was a thunderstorm that came and went like 6 times throughout the day and shut down rides while I was already on line multiple times. Hope you're having a good time though.

Oof, don't let the "die for israel" poster see this one.

Best branch is subjective. Obviously the general vibe you get from people in those branches are going to play an answer to that type of question.

There is no best branch, they all have their pros and cons.

For example airforce, cushy life, great jobs, but they dont treat themselves as military, leadership powertrips because of insecurity, and they purposely make it stupidly difficult to join their branch because of powertripping.

Another example, army, get to pick your exact job specialty, better opportunities for career and technical progression, but unchanging flow of stupid too big to fail policies, and large scale loyalty and trust is rare.

space force

Todays been a good day, no rain. We were supposed to go yesterday, but went to water country instead because it was so much hotter and humid. Around 5pm it starting storming, so all the shit closed down for 2 hours before reopening. Luckily my son was tired by the time it rain, so we just called it a day. Went to this place called Viking Burger down in newport news, and they had some good ass stuffed burgers. Today me and the wife are going to some fancy french restaraunt with another couple, supposedly they got some fucking delicious onion soup and beef tenderloins. Its like 60 bucks each 3 course meal.

coast guard

0311

National Guard

>and they purposely make it stupidly difficult to join their branch because of powertripping.
>couldn't get a score of 50 on the asvab

You're own fault brainlet

>Another example, army, get to pick your exact job specialty, better opportunities for career and technical progression

Realistically, spend several weeks to months in AIT to learn a job that you will never do when you get to you're unit(there are exceptions)

You do know airforce actually push dudes to go open contract right? Were talking airforce here, the good branch, not shitty usmc. We had an airforce recruiter sperg out on us here because he didnt get why we were shit talking him for pushing kids into going open contract.

There are many exceptions to what you described. Many, many, many exceptions. So many so that I would say its extremely rare for what you describe to happen.

Can I start working on getting my clearance before I ship out? I'm worried that I'm going to have to wait a long time to commission after OCS if my clearance hasn't been approved by then..

Your investigation starts the minute you submit your packet before you ship out. My investigation was finished and clearance granted 2 months before I even shipped out.

the process starts before you ship out.

>one recruiter is representative of the entire department of the Air Force
Brainlet

Regardless of your MOS in the army, you will be utilized as a janitor, a mechanic, supply, and whatever else you get tasked out to do

Pink and greens when. I want them, but I don't want to pay for them.

So my references are liable to be contacted at any time now? I swore in 2 weeks ago.

So does every other branch......

I know plenty of AF friends who deal with bullshit. I mean shit, one time my buddy was forced to march everywhere because his squadron or whatever was being anal about military bearing.

probably end of next year

>Regardless of your MOS in the army, you will be utilized as a janitor, a mechanic, supply, and whatever else you get tasked out to do
this is normal for everyone but the usaf im pretty sure.

Attached: 1518908320500.gif (180x280, 246K)

Yes

I don't care

More so in the army.

probably not, the investigation just gets going. dw about it ok, it's going!

Jesus christ, the denial with you. Are you even in? Is your job so shitty you cant comprehend the other services having a better life than you? Did your recruiter sell you that fucking hard?

what are you basing this off of? literally everyone does this, primarily for junior enlisted.
this is a testament to how sheltered the air force is i guess.

You lack reading comprehension. Nothing you said is even relevant in this exchange.

Nice come back. Ditto.

Wasn't a come back. Just saying this is pointless. You are too dumb for the Air Force.

Youre too dumb for the Army as well.

I did 4 years in the army after high school. I was too smart I anything.

Nice try though.

Then why are you arguing for the airforce you dumbshit? Actually, scratch that, I dont give a shit why you larp as an airman.

Because I also did active duty time in the Air Force and am current in the Air guard. So I know what I'm talking about when I say the original point of the army being a better branch for a technical specialty is retarded

How you liking the air guard?

Not that guy, but I'm in and I'm thoroughly enjoying myself

Thanks. I am going to try the California national guard, wish me luck!

I'm in cali ng bro, what questions you got?

If 35L is open for the army, do any other branches a have similar entry level MOS (or equivalent) now?

Equivalent to counter intel special agent? No.
For entry level? No.

What do you do?

Is there such a thing as an OCS contract where if you don't get the branch you want you can enlist in a specific MOS instead?

Hahaha no. The reason you are "supposed" to go officer is to be a leader in the military. Not to work a specific job. As an officer youre a leader first. If you want to do a specific job, enlist. If you want to make a career out of your job, go warrant officer if you can really do the job well.

No.

Which Army branches do the least organized PT on the officer/warrant side?
It seems that Aviation doesn't do any. Any others?

All of them lmao. Officers literally just show up for the formation then do their own thing. Warrants, HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA

In as a 35t. still in RSP though.

23/m graduated college 2 months ago with business degree and can't find job, good aptitude scores.

Which branch do I sell my soul to? I wanna fly

Navy, unless you want to fly helos, then army.

BTW, what was your GPA? If you want some help getting a gov job, I can give you some tips.

>t.350F/GS11

uhh muh overall was 2.9 but my college specific gpa was 3.3. I've done a few ASTB-E practice tests and they were pretty simple

Anyone a FMF corpsman? Wondering how hard it is to go greenside and hump with Marines... is it super competitive, and are the ones they choose the best of the best physically?

Well then youre good to go for going active navy flight officer. Just study up on the shit and sign up. If you want to go helo pilot, look up WOFT for army.

I'm sure flying jets is pretty damn competitive, right?

What sections are counted towards the skilled technical composit score of the asvab? I’m going for 35L so I need a 102 on the ST. I got a 69 on my AFQT, how hard do I need to study?

obligatory "just get the asvab for dummies and study that until you're good"
i mean it's probably right

That and just find a good prep site with practice problems.

You will have a better chance at flying jets in the navy than for the air force or usmc.

Get the asvab for dummys, and all you need is a 101 according to the source pic from the reveal thread.

Attached: 1529327709274.jpg (1125x1649, 505K)

I want to gtfo of the military, how can i get hurt enough to do so? Jump infront of car or something?

skilled technical is like wk, pc, mk, gs, and mc. it's google-able

Fail a pt test twice. Or get fat. No shit, saw a dude have a pizza delivered to a weigh in. He really wanted to get out and everyone knew thats what he was trying to do.

I have the asvab for dummies, but the book says it’s made up of different sections than from the sources I read online

i'm currently TDY though probably wont have a Pt test for a while

cont
Just realized there was a section in there that said you had to be ready for airborne. That could mean automatic OP4

how recent a copy do you have?

just an fyi, everyone i know who got medsepped stayed in past their initial contract due to the processing and healing, etc etc.
they don't kick you out until you're healed back up as much as you will be. Basically don't go hurting yourself to try to get out, just hang in there and set yourself up to switch to civ div.
if you're a boot then uh, welcome to the suck you get used to it and it gets better. dont go hurting yourself though, it'll cause more problems.

yeah but dont you lose some of your benefits if that's why you get kicked out?

>I don't want to go through training with glasses

you little bitch

Attached: vining.jpg (275x88, 9K)

No, its a normal honorable discharged. As long as youve been in 3 years you get your full gi bill. Thats the only loss. But the other options can lead to general or other and honorable which are real fuckin bad. And you dont wanna be in a medboard because holy fuck that is gonna take forever.

No they let any fatfuck retard through
Of course you have to be in good shape, but as a corpsman you'll most likely be giving STD tests in a clinic in bumfuck nowhere, not being FMF.
Even if you ARE FMF, you'll still be doing that.

>not specifically requesting glasses to get the full badass experience

oh shit i didn't even know that, what about BH shit can i do that? just go there and say i'm going crazy?

I'm about to finish up OCS and I absolutely plan on doing PT with my platoon.
