Gun Identification

Ok guys I need a little bit of help.
I found this weapon while rummaging through family stuff.
I don't know shit about anything gun-related.
So if you could help me by telling me what it is/ what should I know about it /Is it worth something ?

If you can read it through the rust, it should have some writing on it somewhere

Its a Glock Model of 1907

Look just in front of the trigger guard. In that general area, there should be some writing, might be stamped on the barrel

Nope actually, that's what I looked for at first, but except a number inside the thing is clear of almost any markings.

What do you call the trigger guard exactly ? Sorry I'm:
1. Gun-oblivious
2. Not english

where are you from?

Mabye on the end of the stock? I’ve seen some rifles have a brand name engraved there

France, the country Jow Forums loves so much.

seems to be a 12 gauge, probably 12/65 from the looks

As I said I don't have it with me right now, but I think I checked well and saw nothing.

Pic related shows the trigger and the trigger guard.
The Guard is there to protect the trigger, Incase of something pulling the trigger before you want to.

Forgot pic

I reckon this is a Belgian job, and finding a maker is probably unlikely.

Ok then, I guess I'm just in for another inspection of the thing.
Any tips on how to reveal any markings without damaging the gun itself ?

it's a european shotgun for sure
I think, it's an ex pinfire black powder shotgun made in britan
the closest thing I found was on this website

Here's a Belgian 20ga pinfire which has a similar latch/action style, only difference is it's not centerfire.

it's proberly from the victorian era

it's the same gun I refered to earlier

Yeah the whole mechanism to break it looks very similar.

So it's ancient ?
Like 1840-1880 or somethin like that ?

I'll make another thread in a few days if I find more informations.

At least 1860, probably closer to 1880 - 1900, and 1000% chance it is not smokeless proofed.

>1000% chance it is not smokeless proofed.

What do you mean ?
>Still oblivious about guns and terminology

Don't shoot modern shotgun shells in it. The gun will explode

Blackpowder shells only

Ok good to know. Any other safety tips ?

Don't shoot any modern ammunition in it.

It’s probably best not to shoot that thing at all

Yeah that's what I thought.
Anything about the regulations ? Like can I get in trouble for having his at home ?
(French btw)

>Like can I get in trouble for having his at home ?
>(French btw)

Probably, but if you surrender it to the police you are a massive fucking faggot.

Well, see you in some days for more pics and infos (hopefully).

Its same thing as in America, its illegal to make a short barreled rifle without a tax stamp. But if you do it, and nobody finds out, how can you get in trouble?

Probably exact reason it got hidden in the first place desu. Kept for when it was needed and out of sight beyond that. However you could see with your local government about what the laws are for registering firearms (pose it as a hypothetical) and see if itd be more worth your time to register it. Alternatively, if you never intend on shooting it, you could probably remove the firing mechanism and legally have it as a display piece

Ok but since it cannot apparently fire modern ammunitions, it's would not be classified as something like "historic piece" until I don't remove the firing mechanism ?

I mean it make sense but I want to be sure to get it right.

Google your laws, i dont know french laws and i cant read french.
